It's so sad they don't record any new music as Superfruit, but I have to admit this song was the best Goodbye they could give themselves and their fans ♥️

Yes. And i think it was meant to be a goodbye. In one of Mitch's live streams ,he mentioned that this was the most "emotional" song of Superfruit. Some one asked what his favorite one was. He also mentioned that he did not want to be asked about Superfruit anymore. He had no answers to when or if they would be getting back together. In fact when pushed he said probably "never".

There's something I hold to my heart about this one. *We* cry because of this song, but they are calm, steady-voiced, and dry-eyed: *they know* they have their friendship, always and forever. That's a promise.

Those are very nice sentiments. But reality tells a different story. Scott and Mitch do very little together anymore. Any behind the scene videos of PTX barely include Mitch. He barely looks at Scott anymore , let alone interacts. I think their relationship is purely professional now. Mitch shows up, sings and then disappears. Complete opposite of the Superfruit years.

I love how they sound together, singing the same notes a few octaves apart. This is a very emotional video, especially realizing it's their last one as Superfruit (for now, I'm still holding on to hope for more!!). Great reaction as always!!

"was" not "is". Their friendship is long gone. Watch anything from behind the scene since the last Superfruit episode. They barely look at each other. Something happened. Everyone keeps saying they became too busy. But building PTX from scratch was hard and time consuming. Yet they were always by each others side. For years that was the case. They were one unit. Then..............................It was over and gone.

@@donny1960nah I reckon they'd still be close. The last couple of years have meant lockdowns, quarantines etc plus Scott lives with Mark now. They aren't those young 20 something's anymore, people grow up and life happens

@@cherylwilson8743You "rekon" wrong. Long before lock downs, Superfruit stopped. Scott had long term relationships with his boyfriends living in the house while Mitch lived there throughout the 5 years they Vloged as Superfruit. Also thank you for reminding me that "people grow up" and "life happens". I have been aware of that for years now. It kind of happened to me too. To most people I would say. And to use that expression as a "reason" to explain why best friends barely interact anymore is a stretch at best. More an excuse. I do not know these people. I can only go on what my eyes and ears tell me. Scott and Mitch work together. And do not interact much at all when together. So if that is "grownup" close friendship. No thanks.

Disagree with your assumption that these two people are still close when all evidence points the other way. No big deal at all. Also no need to bring Jesus into it. So take your own advice and CHILL. By the way, my comment was not a "rant". Your response is. I do not know you and am not comfortable taking a scolding by a complete stranger, who for all practical purposes is telling how I am allowed to think. Not cool.

This song/video makes me emotional every time. They’re such an iconic duo and even if they never return as Superfruit they had a moment in time together that will never change. I look back at their journey fondly

Mitch is really channeling the 80s here. Scott and Mitch voices complement each other perfectly, I'm not sure if it's because they sang together for years or if that's why they sang so well for so long. I think Superfruit just didn't fit the schedule anymore (there were a few episodes where Mitch was hysterical from pure exhaustion) so thus is the unofficial official goodbye for now

Scott mentioned in a Tyler Oakley video last year that that’s exactly what happened. They want to get back to it but Scott says they’ve been too busy and lazy to get back to doing Superfruit

They're busy at one million other things now, so they're just too lazy to get some Superfriut content for us. I really hope they'll be back, but I don't think it's anytime soon.

I knew you’d love this one! This song & video never fails to make me cry. I love Mitch & Scott as individuals, I love them as best friends, I love their relationship. This was the perfect song to put a pause on Superfruit. I’m hoping one day they surprise us with a new episode, even if it’s a 2 minute one of them saying hi, blowing kisses and singing “good byeeeeee”💜💛🧡❤️

Travis, i love not only your honest, emotional reactions but also how you interpret the videos to which you react. I know that the playful boys from the Superfruit channel have grown up, but the music Scott and Mitch make as a duo is very special and I hope they will do more of it. I can’t help but think that this video is a message to fans that they still share their special bond, Also Adam’s interpretation of the song on ice is simply breathtaking! I watch this one often! And I get emotional every time. ❤️

@@gsusan11I remembered this post when Travis mentioned how even more powerful their cover of The Promise was knowing their background with each other. This video just seems to emphasize and magnify that. The beginnings of their 20-year relationship, inception of Superfruit, and just their interactions and body language with each other is so endearing.

Their friendship is just something so magical and this video just shows that (that look between them with that line of the song melts me). When I first heard this, it was only audio, and I thought it was a really nice song. Then I saw the video, and it changed EVERYTHING! For me, it had much more impact. Oh, and then if course, hearing the story as to the reason for the song... I 😭💔😭

Wow, Travis, you really got me with this one. This is one of my favorite songs of all time, like 30 years or whatever, so I have been really hesitant to listen to it. And I was not quite happy...until that crescendo and the ending. They did this JUSTICE and saw it through to the end. Thanks so much for opening my eyes to new talent that my stodgy old 51 yr old self would never normally see!

Because it's a cover instead of an original it wasn't added to their album but it definitely would fit the theme as it represents where they are now, their promise to always be best friends & be there for each other. ❤❤ I love that they did this as their last video before they put Superfruit on hiatus. Hopefully one day they'll have some new duets together, but it's great that they've been doing other things they want to do too on top of all the Pentatonix music, & now Mitch has released his 1st solo album. 🙂

I dedicated this to my husband, when it came out.. he was sick with leukemia, and having a hard time, it made us both cry and loved it, it stillmakes me cry, but always at the beauty of the sentiment. Hes been gone for 2 years. there will never be another...just like their friendship...i knew you would get the feels, I did watching you, thank you.

Y'know, I've seen this video more than 30 times now, over the last few months, and every bloody time, my eyes water, from the sheer gorgeousness of it. As a probably unpopular opinion, I did go looking for the original of this song, by a group named "When in Rome." They made a really nice video, very romantic, and I did like it - but oh, man, the lead singer.... Mitch blows him out of the ether, I'll just leave it at that. There's simply no comparison. "Sing." Also, "Deny U." Trust us. :D

You should think of about keeping a box of tissues at your desk. I love how much you give yourself over To the videos and the songs. Most reactors shy away from being vulnerable but you allow yourself to be and I respect that So much and I appreciate you Travis. I llllove PTX, but if I could tell Scott and Mitch anything it would be how ingenious and impactful that Superfruit is. The representation that their channel and music hold means so much to so many people. Their inspiration from older beats and funkiness made new combined with inclusiveness and friendship is a true treasure. We all know that they are busy from the literal empire PTX has built combined with their separate lives and personal issues, but we all secretly hope that Superfruit will provide music and content forever.
