I caught Alex coming out of the restroom at WonderCon in San Francisco years ago and asked him to sign my issues of Marvels which he did. Sorry Alex.......but thank you so much. I still have them and love them.

Truly the best painter in comics. His homage to thr classic gold look of characters is more political than I expected. Very serious man and artist.

"No challenge with something that's already popular" I love it. Bring the back ground to the front. Show us these other characters are cool too. Remind us why we loved them all to begin with. Bottom line inspire us all around. Awesome.

It's refreshing to see a professional comic book artist using a traditional medium as most modern artists are using computers and/or tablets using manga studio and photoshop. It's so inspiring to watch.

I want to say a big Thank You to the Norman Rockwell Museum. . I got to not only see Mr Ross art first Hand but I actually meet him in person at the MSV in Winchester VA. I would have never dreamed in million years that I ever get that chance. Thank you for making my dream come true. It is one of the greatest experiences in my life. Especially since I live in very rural area. That is little less than 100 miles away from the exhibit and I have never had the chance to ever experience art first hand. Thank You and Thank Mr Ross for doing this. To everyone else if this exhibit comes anywhere near you please go and see it you will not regret it. Seeing his art online and it books does not do it justice compared to in person. When you can see extreme amount of detail that he puts into his art.

Thank you, Jesse Kowalski, Bill J. Killon and the Norman Rockwell Museum. It's so rare to see an interview with Alex this long (although, upon finishing it, I want more...) It was a real treat. I wish we could have a video of him making one of his pieces, talking while he does it... If he's the kind of artist that can do that.

It must be nice to have that . Your mother was an artist herself and it didn’t make you feel like you were doing anything weird or different because that’s what she was as well. In my family they all do music and I have no one to relate to , so I sorta envy you in that sense🤧

@11:35 true! @12:05 well not really, since Batman is a VERY thin and slender in the origins. Altho Batman had near superhuman strength he was still skinny and slender, yet Ross went against the origins and showed him as a thick beefcake. Also original has no eyes shown at all, yet Ross shows eyeballs. Also the origins of Batman was EXTREMELY "Bruce Lee" being about cunningness, speed, agility, and finesse. While Ross instead makes him about mass and brute force, zero finesse. So when it comes to falling back on the "origins" as he claims, he's far and away from the Batman, he does not present the loudest traits in the origins of Bats, and his image "does not resemble where it all began" as he ironically states @12:21. Those traits btw (No eyes, slim physique, speed+finesse) would STILL remain as Batmans primary and loudest traits for 30 years all the way up to Neal Adams and still 30 years AFTER Neal Adams as well...so basically ninety percent of his whole published existence. Thus stating that Ross's presentation of Batman simply does not at all reflect 90% of Batman's comics. When you think of Batmans comics you don't think of Ross's image or when you think of Ross's image you don't think of the Batman comics. With the GREATEST Batman artists of all time from Marshal Rogers to Infantino, to J Aparo, etc etc, Ross simply does not report the long time character's nature at all with his "anti-imagery". And "Anti" meaning his image is quite the antithesis or opposite of the Batmans long time character which is immensely successful, so it works. There's nothing wrong with it.

Wrong. Batman wasn't even close to "VERY thin and slender" in his Origins. He was average size and build at the very least.
