I think the main problem with this boss fight is that it is difficult in a bullet hell sort of way which is pretty anticlimactic for an rts game. I mean its punishing you for not possessing the skills it barely prepared you to have in the first place. To tell the truth I feel like the purple balls are very anticlimactic in and of themselves...

Oh gosh, this guy. First two phases aren't too hard once you know what to do (ALWAYS attack the hand especially if it glows blue since that attack will oneshot your Tortugon, destroy the electric orbs in phase 2, you can destroy the laser column things in phase 2 to make life a lot easier) but then phase three is a whole different story. Not only does he summon Quantum Carriers who are already deadly enemies with those purple balls, he also drops those 4-6 crystals that if not destroyed turn into said purple balls aimed at your Tortugon. Not fun. And of all the animals to choose from to model their interdimensional tanks on, the Iron Marines just had to select "tortoise".

Just went up against this guy on the same difficulty as you. God is he obnoxious, as is his ability to just instantly kill the unbearably slow Tortugon. I tried using Kara here, and while she has the damage, she is nowhere near tough enough to survive his constant flow of minions.

Melee works well against him, although he will keep knockbacking it. Id say the middle difficulty boss among the three

This lvl is fucken annoying! I had to play this like 50 time and i still havnt defeated him yet!

That was easy :D just buy 5 rockets for 5000 and you won

this is stupidly hard on impossible difficulty, if anyone is going to attempt this i recommend farming the gold things and buy a bunch of orbital bombardment, 2 takes down his hp completely.

I didn't know about the hand stuff, I ended up beating nexus in normal mode without touching it's hands

What I want to know is why there is nothing on KZfaq about the acendaar enemy “overseer” It is extremely difficult and I can’t find anything about it or how to beat it.

I just beat it on Veteran on PC. PC makes it much harder since you have to click on a unit and then click on their target/location to move. Sometimes it doesn't register so well and it will attack something else or move to another place. First stage isn't that hard, second stage is a nightmare because there are so many factors involved... I beat the 3rd stage first try by just moving that turtle thing and focus fire the hands and boss. Impossible difficulty is another story now, I'm having trouble beating the 2nd stage now.

I didnt realise you could attack the hands but I still managed to kill Nexus on impossible

At first this was hard, I can do the first part easily because I let my brawler, hero (Sha'tra) and dropgun sit by Nexus and kill him easily, the second part was really hard, the problem was I was too defensive and low on offense, which was slowing me down, I fixed that and I easily killed him, the third part was hard because I had no source of defense with big offense but I used the Diplomats with Rangers and a Shellstorm on the third part and easily beat him on impossible mode

For me I nuked the basterd twice at phase 3 and won

It was easiest boss compare to rob07 ... just get ur alien gaurdians near the this boss and spirit on left side of his hand and use flamethrower as tank to protect ur toartugon lol

same feelings...i expected a huge final Battle with all Types of Enemies Swarming constantly at my Tower Walls like in Starcraft II...but nope,...one of the most stupid Final Battle Designs for me only because the useless fat Robo slow as fuck Difficulty Mode. Anyway, the Campaign and the Upgrades Mechanics were good so it is still a good chilling game.

I think think it was that bad. But I agree that it was one of the worst levels in this game.
