This story probably inspired the episode "The late Mr.Kent" from Superman The Animated Series.

Superman is the secret identity. Not Clark Kent. He was brought up and raised a 'Kent' so that makes him a 'Kent' whatever anyone else says.

I've heard that argument before and it makes a lot of sense. I'm just going by what the writers consider his secret identity.
