It’s fine, I’m liking the return of the underwear. To me it makes me think of the golden age of comics, and I kinda hope the new batsuit will follow suit. Gives me hope that we are going to see more of a fun comic book adventure, rather than a dark a gritty movie. James Gunn hasn’t let me down before in the genre, no reason to think he is gonna start now!

Personally, I don’t believe that this is the final version of the suit. Especially when you consider that the yellow outline in the chest is missing as it was when Gunn shared a glimpse of the suit a few months ago.

If you look VERY closely the yellow outline is there. It’s really battle-damaged and grimy but it’s there. I really want to see a clean version.

Reminds me most of Tyler Hoechlin’s first suit from Supergirl. That’s not the Superman suit you want to be compared to since it had a really low budget

Ngl, I thought it was a cosplay suit when I first saw it. I’ll have to see it in live-action to see if I’m fond of it, but still wise, it looks alright. Maybe it’s a “first suit” type of deal and he gets an upgrade later. Who knows. Though I was the same with Pattinson's Batman suit as well and I grew to like it. Regardless, I’m still keeping an open mind for the movie and hope it’s executed well.

Superman never had cgi suits. Not Routh, not cavil and certainly not reeve. CGI suits is MCU thing. Cavill suit was an actual suit and it looked 10000x better than this shit. This looks like poor guy is wearing a freaking tire.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s sentimental to have Martha making his suit for him, but that suit won’t stand a chance against a scratch, let alone a bullet. Even the original Christopher Reeve’s Superman suit was from Krypton despite looking like a hand-me-down.

Ha. Superman getting dressed is so weird. He's usually always spinning around real fast, or rips off his clothes to reveal the suit. I kinda think this is funny. Like he just got home and sat down to watch the new episode of his favorite TV show and then someone needs his help. Then he's all cranky and muttering to himself while he's struggling to get his boots on. Ha. I dont know why I find that so funny. But I think Cavill would be a good fit for my version of grumpy Superman.

That’s the point of this reveal, it humanizes Supes his 9-5 is saving the world. We get tired of our jobs and so does he but he still gets up and performs his duty. That’s why he’s sitting there putting on boots while a battle is ensuing in the back.

"Home made" wasnt my impression of it. The Homemade suits like Dean Cains or the pilot of Superman and Lois were much smoother and plain, just fabric. This looks more designed. Layered. More practical. Yes, this does look a lot like the GotG suits, but i wouldn't call those hand made either

The message the picture is giving speaks volumes. Looking away putting his boots on casually while that is going on in the background. Either no feel of crazy urgency or very unsure about his ability, maybe even fear. Not sure what this is saying exactly but it's intriguing. The costume doesn't really even matter.

So I just checked the comics and this is heavily inspired from new 52. Although it doesn't have the high collar neck. But the colour and lines and boots are spot on. Red trunks obviously grt plus. All star suit is very bright blue.

Oh.. and the suits.. It's a fact that the Black Panter suit was based of of Cavill's Superman suit. A lot of the suit creators have taken on that sort of style. This looks more like a cheaper version.. dare I say, CW? Too much weird fake fabric. Now this one doesn't have any padding at all, and so the already smaller/less buff Corenswet looks even skinnier. Cavill, already buffer had a suit that accentuated his existing muscles giving a better aesthetic. So not only are the trunks a step backwards, the actual quality of the suit itself seems to be a step backward. Comparing it to a GotG suit is fair, but Quill was actually wearing a jacket, so that fit. This isn't a jacket.

I’ll admit that I’m a die hard Marvel fan, but I have always secretly hoped that we could have gotten a good DCEU and I’m still very hopeful that we will. When I heard James Gunn was going to be directing in the DCEU I was very excited to see what he could come up with….and then he made the Suicide Squad and I get James Gunn has a very distinct style, but maaaan that movie just felt like a Marvel movie and it seems like every creative decision they are making is heading into a Marvel-esque direction. I liked the dark and gritty that they were making because it felt different than what Marvel was/is doing. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Okay I notice the eyebrows are still bleached. Plus, guys he's wearing this suit fr shoot. James Gunn clearly wrote this is a real photo. And the background is perhaps LED volume. Now surely they'll further refine it in post production. It'll probably look more skin tight

I don't see how there would anything negative to say about this costume though I'm sure the Internet will find it. I think it looks cool, and the actor looks good in it. Checks all the boxes imho, and dude even wearing his red trunks on the outside😂, which some people are way to obsessed about btw just saying i always found that weird and didn't mind seeing it gone with Cavil's version. But don't really care that it's back either just cause they want to consider it important to the characters look

I feel the same way: I don’t love it, but also don’t hate it. I think it will look very different when he stands and especially when it’s in motion. Honestly I felt the same about the classic Wolverine suit when the first pictures leaked, but now after seeing it on Hugh in the second trailer, I love it.

I feel like this was a vastly done last minute photo made to be released because set photos might start getting leaked so to avoid that they went ahead and went on a sound stage and took some photos, plus I don't think that background beam is super important, I think it's suppose to serve as "another day of work" for superman as he's getting ready to stop this, to add a layer of relatability and comedicness as this could just be another Tuesday in this universe, overall I like the suit, not love it and hope on screen that it'll look a bit better but it's lightyears away from being Henry Cavil level perfection.

It looks like a mixture of multiple types of the suit. The high collar is from New52, the texture and molded details looks Snyder, the trunks and belt classic, and the S shield kingdom come

I don't know how long you waited for MT, but I would have enjoyed a dual reaction playing off both your energy. Knowing they wanna have more suits and toys to sell down the line This is only going to be the first reiteration of his Superman suit in the new DCEU by James Gunn. Perhaps Martha Kent tailor makes him his first suit as he decides to take on Earthly terrestrial threats as a new savior. And then when he finally meets his match, he learns about the fortress of solitude and Jor-el gives him a more alien-esque, stylized suit.

One thing that elevates the outfit up high is, that it looks used!! I'm not talking about dirt tho, because it actually looks clean af. But the S looks like it lost colors in the corners, the boots look chipped here and there, it all feels like it is actually worn by someone. Other then that, I like the new design. It's, as you said, very Gunn-esque. More loose, more comfy, less spandex. Personally speaking, I really hope this outfit becomes a hit, because I don't like the spandex-look on most superheroes or villains and love when they have more to them. Doesn't need to be grounded, just more "more".

It's surprising to see some discontent with the recent reveal. While it may not have the polished presentation of previous Superman iterations or the grandeur of the Paterson Batman suit, the suit's weathered appearance suggests battle readiness. Even though we don't know the context of the scene yet, just from the images, I'm satisfied with how he looks.

I feel like once movies and tv shows were presented at a certain resolution they started to jam every little detail they can to superhero suits. Like the Routh suit, they had tiny super man logos all over it. This is more of that. They can’t seem to show a normal plain suit without a million little details and panels. I suppose it’s trying hard to look realistic in an ultra fictional world. Still, for Superman, I feel like a simpler design is best. Still happy to see the red trunks, though. :)

The suit is fine, nice colours. I just hope he plays a good Clark. The actor I don't know anything about him..he looks like a dad dressing up in a cosplay..😅. There isn't a believeable look like the other actors had. They should have had Superman in front of the window looking twords us with his head down or looking to the side. That way the picture would make sense to the backdrop. As long as the cape is long, ill be cool. It looks alright...i guess. I hope my opinion will change.
