I mean if we're being honest most of dc animated films are loosely based off the comic they're adapted from. I'm not making excuses or anything but for anyone who saw flashpoint knows what i mean, if the run time was longer I'm sure they would've squeezed almost every detail out the comic. It's no big deal tbh.

Basically the story understand both nation were just humans wishing for a better world. Everyone involved just want a better world and both did terrible things. Some are more better than others. The Russian failed miserably and didn't managed to even sustain a proper state. But the US was pretty hegemonic as well, but luckily it price economic foreign policies better than outright imperial conquest. But the things CIAand KGB did to other countries after Ww2.... Which is why I like this story, and it tell us why people are driven to do bad things. Hey superman killing stalin was pretty powerful

I think the ending in comics is the point of the limited series. I think the point of Red Son is that utopia can't be achieved or even if it's achieved, it's really hard to keep it together

@@angelcazares1197 I only read the first season, and I wasn't impressed. But to be fair, maybe the other seasons do it better. Still, I didn't care for it. The story basically starts with our Superman, then tells us about his "one bad day" like the Joker had in "The Killing Joke," and then he turns into Stalin. Actually, I always figured "Injustice" was based on "Red Son," but with a less-nuanced plot for the sake of a video game where the heroes are fighting each other.

Funny, I was thinking that I really enjoy the art style. It feels very much like a DC style. I would have loved a style more akin to the Fleischer Superman cartoons, but I have zero issues with what we got. Nothing wrong with simple meat and potatoes.

This is a severely watered down version of the comic. Making Superman an outright villain and Lex a hero was a terrible idea.

Yeah, I haven't watched it full yet but I have read the comic and spoiled myself with the ending of the Animated Version. The Animated Version looks like almost propaganda like but I do appreciate that Lex is less Villainous and emphasizes that even though he is obsessed with Superman, he wants Capitalism and what's best for Humanity. The Comic Version was more focused on his ego and obsession with Superman that when he eventually "kills" him, he finally made the world better but at the cost of ironically seeping his own ego through humanity, that when his successor, warns them that the world will end everyone ignored him thus causing the paradox. The comic book ending is more open ended and really makes the reader think about the lapses of both Communism and Capitalism. The Red Son Animated Red Son ending, is much more leans towards Capitalism. I do think that if they added the twist epilogue even with the bias towards Capitalism, the thought provoking message of Red Son would still be there.
