I met Iman in the early 2000s at her reception for her foundation’s gala. She was so lovely in her regard for me and others. I really can’t say enough about what a huge impression her graciousness made on me. She is truly beautiful inside and out.

“The skin you take care of in your 20s, is the skin you’re gonna inherit in your 60s and 70s.” THIS! I’ve had really bad acne when i was 20, went on two rounds of antibiotics and then accutane and my skin looked good but it became sooo dry. Ever since then, I’ve created a morning and night routine, a winter and summer routine, all for my skin. Now I’m 26 and still aim to take care of my skin. A frown line that I had on my forehead is pretty much nonexistent now. Love self care.

as soon as she shared the ingredients to the mask, i ran to my kitchen and gathered all the ingredients! i originally followed the exact same measurements, but had lots left over, so i just lessened the amount of flour, turmeric, milk and honey. i also used whole wheat flour, because it's the only one i have and it's so wonderful!! THIS MASK IS GLORIOUS! THANK YOU IMAN

Iman, I used your products since 1995, which was the best makeup for me. Sadly throughout the years, it left the shelves of retailers such as JC Penney then Walmart and Target. It's difficult to find your Iman makeup. Please bring it back! Thank you for sharing. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

She is so correct. All of my 20s I never had a skincare routine. I would do soap and whatever cream on my face. I’m 31 now and have invested in some skincare products cause I thought to myself I need to at least try to preserve my skin lol! Thank God no wrinkles yet (maybe a few lines, nothing crazy)

Basically, don't use chemical based sunscreens as they r harmful to both urself and the environment...coral reefs r severely dwindling due to these sunscreens...use mineral based...yes they leave a white mask cast to the skin which most people don't want on their face...but the clear ones that absorb and leave no cast r the bad chemical based...mineral based is safer and healthier for everyone involved

Just be careful with using the turmeric, as it actually lightens the skin. Turmeric contains a chemical compound called curcumin which blocks the activation of proteins that increase and regulate melanin production. This is why she is darker only around her eyes, because she does not apply the skin lightening turmeric solution around that sensitive area. Sharing this just so you’re aware of the unintended chemical effects to your own skin tone. ❤️💫🌍

before anyone says anything, us somali people have incredibly shiny and reflective eyes when we are young that makes us susceptible to arcus senilis when we are older. it changes our eye colour to blue. we can see fine, its just a trait we carry in our genome.

I wish people would stop mentioning the 40s as the go-to age when they wanna say that an older woman looks good for her age. Today's 40s is NOT the same as the 40s of the past. Most 40somethings still have a young-looking face despite having some wrinkles. I know this because I'm in my 40s as well.

Couldn't it be a number of things? Most celebs were darker in the 90s then now because 1. A lot black models were given darker make up 2. Some even given tans if they weren't dark enough and 2. Photo and video quality has changed a lot.

People get darker as they age and develop more of an uneven skin tone as well because of hyperpigmentation which is common in people with brown to dark skin and uneven patches that start to occur. Appearance of wrinkles also makes the skin look darker. People only lose melanin in their eyes as they age but not their skin

When i started wearing makeup i wore Imans makeup because as a Puerto Rican woman there werent many shades for non caucasian women. I used to go to JCPENNY to buy it. She also inspired me to start modeling , though i didn’t have as successful a career as the fabulous Iman!!! Queen 😍

I can see that routine fir someone who wear a lot of makeup but I believe they n a more simple routine- clean face, moisturizer and plenty of water. This is what I grew up doing and my skin may not be perfect but I think it looks pretty good for my age, 60+. We all know that makeup can hide imperfections and give you a beautiful look. ❤️
