I remember the earlier seasons actually being SCARY. Scary visuals, scary sounds, scary vibe. As the show went on and the boys had every weapon and skill at their disposal, it got less scary cause you weren’t worried for the main characters as they wrecked shop

Before I talk about my rankings, I'll say that it's a pattern with Supernatural to have a Great season (Season 5, Season 8, Season 11) that has the potential to be a Series finale, and then follow it up with one of the worst seasons (Season 6, Season 9, Season 12). Then the seasons between are just building back up to a good season just to start the cycle over again. It's sooooo frustrating cause they had so many chances to end on a great note, and then chose to keep going and screw up the legacy of the show. Bottom: 15. Season 6 14. Season 12 13. Season 15 12. finally somebody who admits they enjoyed season 7, I never got why exactly its so disliked. You had some good points with the worst episodes but then again I did enjoy Shut up doctor Phil but tbh it was just because of the buffy cameos.

First 5 seasons great. Next 5 exhausting. Last 5 is just sad. (not including S11)

Slowly but surely S7 has become one of my favourite seasons. Survival of the fittest is the 5th best finale of all. Behind 2, 3, 4 & 5. In other words it's the best finale aside from the excellent ones.

Points for 'A Most Holy Man', and 'Scoobynatural') Season 12 (points for 'First Blood' and the character of 'Mick') Season 15 (I don't not like it, nothing could stop me from enjoying the finale. Points for... Ending the show. You did it, good job. 👏👏👏👏) Season 14 (memory is foggy around this season so it may or may not be above 15. Points for bringing back John in 'Lebanon')

Season 6 gets a bad rep. It's slower than season 5, but it deals with the fallout of those events and the power vaccuum it created in heaven and hell. For me it belongs in the B or A tier.

For me Seasons 1, 2, 4 & 5 would be classed *S* Seasons 3, 6, 9 & 10 would be classed *A* Seasons 11, 7, 8, 12 would be a *C* Seasons 13 through 14 were flat out garbage an *F* is almost too easy on them given how bad they were. *Season 15* is in a league of its own for terribleness, 3 Decent episodes in an entire season is a bad way to end a once great show

SUPERNATURAL.. I loved the show...from Season 1 through 5. It was sort of perfect in that span and that's where it should have ended. That's what ther writer intended. But it didn't. It ran on too long, in my opinion. WAY too long. Being a fan of THE X-FILES, I liked the monster-of-the-week episodes more. Early seasons, later seasons, doesn't matter much. I liked the MOTW episodes the best. As far as the myth arc goes, I like seasons 1-5. So, from Season 6 on, I prefer the one-offs. Too bad they're far and in between.

I don't disagree with this list enough to say anything about my differences except for two of them: A) Season 11 would go in my S tier solely based on God's reveal to Sam & Dean. The song, the series-long buildup to a number of moments (mainly Sam having kept the necklace in secret for so long), the episode-long buildup to God fixing the town... It's my favorite scene in the show. I don't like it more than S4 & S5, but it's definitely in the same tier for me. 2) Season 12 hits some kind of sweet spot for me with the British Men of Letters thing happening simultaneously to everything else. Like that near panic of knowing that they really need to deal with the BMoL, but they just keep having more pressing concerns adds something to the season that I feel is what makes the season (for me anyway) a B tier

Love this video! Working on my fourth rewatch of the entire show. I agree with your ranking for the most part, if I had to rank mine it would probably be (from worst to best): 14: Season 9: Just sooo boring and some of the worst episodes of the series IMO, plus the tension between the brothers is contrived and borderline unbearable to watch. Best episodes - Dog Dean Afternoon & First Born. Worst episodes - Bloodlines (it’s the only episode I always skip on rewatches), Thinman, & Mother’s Little Helper. 13: Season 15: I could write an entire essay on why this season sucks but thankfully you’ve pretty much already done that for me. I will say I really hate the series finale as well, I just think it does all the characters so dirty. It just beats out season 9 because at least some of the concepts were interesting, even if they weren’t well executed. This and season 14 are the only seasons I’ve seen just once, so my opinion might change during my rewatch. I don’t think I’ve seen this enough times to give a good list of bests and worsts, but Inherit the Earth is just awful. 12: Season 13: Again, just really boring, I don’t care for the apocalypse world storyline at all, and even the stronger episodes of this season, aside from Scoobynatural, would just be mediocre-bad episodes in other seasons. The introduction of Jack is basically the only thing that saves this season from being lower than 15. Best episodes - Scoobynatural, The Thing, Breakdown, & Tombstone. Worst episodes: Patience (I haaaateeee that they brought back Missouri just to kill her off, unacceptable), Wayward Sisters, and the Bad Place. 11: Season 10: The arch is pretty boring and I will never forgive them for killing Charlie, but I enjoy demon Dean and the latter half of the season for the most part, though the mark DEFINITELY gets stale quickly. Best episodes: Fan Fiction, Brother’s Keeper, & The Werther Project. Worst episodes: Paper Moon, Halt & Catch Fire, & Paint it Black. 10: Season 8: The first half of this season is just sooooo boring IMO. I think it would have been better to do a three-part arch with Purgatory and then maybe a couple episodes focusing on Sam (and maybe even one with just Kevin & Crowley!). The trials are cool in theory but for the most part I don’t think they execute them very well. The season finale and some of the mid-season episodes save it from being lower that 10, for me at least. Best Episodes - Sacrifice, LARP and the real girl, As Time Goes By, and Everybody Hates Hitler. Worst Episodes: Man’s Best Friend with Benefits (okay I lied, I always skip this episode too, it’s the tone-deaf racism for me), Goodbye Stranger, & Remember the Titans. Bitten gets a pass from me - i don’t love it but I don’t think it’s as bad as everyone makes it out to be. 9: Season 12: Okay, so I have a lot of conflicted feelings about season 12. On the one hand, I hate both of the season archs, but on the other, it has some of my favorite episodes of the entire series. I will also defend The Memory Remains to my grave - the plot is a bit trite but I loooove the direction in this episode and it’s pretty hilarious. Plus the boys carving their initials into the table at the end is just so great. Best episodes: Stuck in the Middle (with you), Regarding Dean, First Blood, Lilly Sunder Has Some Regrets, Rock Never Dies, & American Nightmare. Worst episodes: Episodes 1-3, The British Invasion, & There’s Something About Mary. 8: Season 14: I don’t have a ton of thoughts on season 14 mostly because I’ve only seen it once. This is really based purely on the fact that I like it more than 12 and less than 3 lol. I might rank it higher after my rewatch. Again, I don’t have strong enough feelings to give a best and worst list, but The Moriah is fucking amazing. 7: Season 3: I know this is basically blasphemy but I don’t really love season 3. There are some great episodes but I think the story arch is pretty weak because of the writer’s strike, and I’m not willing to give it a pass based on that alone. I also think they completely botch Heat of the Moment in the final 10 minutes by taking it wayyyyy too far and making Sam behave completely out of character (sorry not sorry). Best Episodes: Bad Day at Black Rock, Dream A Little Dream of Me, Ghostfacers, Jus In Bello, & A Very Supernatural Christmas. Worst episodes: Red Sky at Morning, The Kids Are Alright, and the Magnificent Seven. 6: Seasons 6&7 (Tie): okay, I know I’m going to catch a lot of flack for ranking these so highly, especially above 3, but I honestly don’t think they’re that bad. Season six is helllaaa messy but I think the second half is really strong and the corruption of Castiel is a GREAT story line. I also really enjoy the soulless Sam and Eve plot lines, and I think despite how scattered it is everything actually ties together really well. Season seven is a bit too simplistic IMO, and the finale sucks (the big boss fight literally lasted FIVE MINUTES lmao), but i love the leviathans and it introduces some of the best characters of the series - Charlie, Kevin, and Garth. I have them tied here because I can’t really decide which direction with the season arch is worst, so in that sense I think they balance each other out. Season 6 best episodes: The French Mistake, Frontierland, The Man Who Knew Too Much, The Man Who Would Be King, & Weekend at Bobby’s; Worst Episodes: All Dogs go to Heaven, Mannequin 3: The Reckoning, and Unforgiven. Season 7 Best Episodes: Death’s Door, The Girl with the Dungeons & Dragons Tattoo, Reading is Fundamental, Time After Time After Time, Meet The New Boss, and Slash Fiction. Worst episodes: The Slice Girls, Season 7 - Time for a Wedding, & The Mentalists. 5: Season 1: Not much explanation here, I love this season but I just think the ones above it are stronger. Best episodes: Nightmare, Faith, Skin, & Scarecrow. Worst episodes: Bugs (lmao) & Route 666. 4: Season 2: I looooove season 2. The psychic kids are so interesting, the finale is bomb, and the MOTW episodes are some of the best. Azazel is in literally only 3 episodes and he’s still the best villain they’ve ever had on the show. Best episodes: Nightshifter, Houses of the Holy, Born Under A Bad Sign, What Is and What Should Never Be, Folsom Prison Blues, All Hell Breaks Loose 1&2, Simon Said, Tall Tales, In My Time of Dying & Croatoan (I know I just listed half the season lol but it’s that good). Worst episodes: Road Kill (by far the worst), followed by Hunted, & Playthings. I also don’t really care for Heart (sorry). 3: Season 11: it was a toss up between season 11 and 2 but for me 11 edges out two simply because of the direction and the strength of the season arch. Supernatural always struggles to balance the MOTW episodes with the overall arch but I think they absolutely nail it with season 11. Amara is sick and the reveal that Chuck is actually god is just gold. Best episodes: Baby, Thin Lizzie, Plush, Red Meat, The Vessel, Don’t Call Me Shurley, Just My Imagination, & O Brother Where Art Thou. Worst episodes: Safe House, Love Hurts, & Don’t You Forget About Me. 2: Season 5: So I’m about to commit major supernatural blasphemy here but I actually don’t really like Swan Song, like at all. The narration is jarring and forced, the big fight is underwhelming, and I find the entire episode incredibly corny. I also think the number of great episodes in 4 just edges out 5 for me. Best episodes: Two Minutes to Midnight, Dark Side of the Moon, The End, My Bloody Valentine & Changing Channels. Worst episodes: I Believe The Children Are Our Future, Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid, The Curious Case of Dean Winchester, and yes, I’m putting Swan Song here. I’m ready to be crucified. 1: Season 4: Season 4 of supernatural is a nearly perfect season of television IMO. The tension between the brothers is amazing, the plot twists are fantastic, and I love the finale. Even the weak episodes in this season are still really great. Best episodes: Lazarus Rising, Monster Movie, Yellow Fever, After School Special, On the Head of a Pin, It’s A Terrible Life, The Monster at the End of this Book, Wishful Thinking, In The Beginning, The Rapture, and Lucifer Rising. Worst episodes: family remains is the only bad episode, I don’t love Jump The Shark or Are You There God? It’s Me Dean Winchester, but I think the rest of this season is basically flawless.

…continued from previous post….Basically it comes down to this. Seasons 1 through 11 were all very good with varying levels of quality. The series would have served itself far better to end with the season 11 finale with a tweak it two. Seasons 12 through 15 were basically crap with the occasional nice episode , ie Lily Sunder, Dear Dean and Tombstone et al. Anyone else feel that way? I’m surprised at the low ratings for season 6. Wendigo is one of your least favorite episodes of the whole show? what? anyone I've talked to and any tier list I've seen consistently ranks that episode as one of the best. Edit: Ghostfacers is one of the lesser episodes for S3? dang. If I remember right that was the first ep with them and it had that monster that like came to life cause people believed in it? idk but I always enjoyed having those characters on the show.

The only dislike I have with the earlier seasons is that the brothers were not as close as they were in seasons 11 - 14. Would like the story lines of the earlier seasons without all the brothers fighting each other like in season 4.

Seasons 7-10 were all in the gutter. I say 7 is the worst of the lot, but 9 is a very close contender. Part of what made that batch of seasons unbearable is that the writers made Dean thoroughly unlikable, but they had a hard on for their version of the character. Dean mistreated everyone, but *he* was always in the right according to the abysmal writers.

Im a feature length film Director ( not to toot the ol’ horn, but) Here’s what I would do to fix all this… Take things back to the basics and work with the strengths of the show. I would make a feature length film that took place after the events of Season 5 as an epilogue. Seasons 1-5 have a specific tone that defined the show. It was scary, it was dark , it was heartwarming and it had STEAKS. There would be no “ End of the world or grand scale scenario”… You can’t outdo the final steaks of season 5, so you tell a personal story. The movie would address a 20 year time gap of Dean living his life with his new family and legitimately being happy, but is repressing his inner darkness regarding Sam’s fate in Hell, meanwhile Sam being trapped in the spirit realm on earth with other nasty ghosts. He was pulled from Hell due to his heroic sacrifice. Both Sam and Dean can’t move on until they accept their Fates. Somehow I want to make this happen one day.

Honestly.. I personally didn't hate any of these seasons. I wouldn't rank any below a B. I didn't have any episodes that I hated either....not really. As for season 15... I have to agree with him. I liked the ending but I didn't like how they got to it. I hated how they just threw away Michael's character arc with Adam. I also didn't get how Chuck went all psycho. Granted he was always a rather shitty God but his character shift at the end of season 14 just didn't make any sense. I really wished they would have explained it better in season 15

S: 4, 5 A: 2, 3 Between A and B: 1 B: 8 C: 6, 7 Between C and D: 11 D: 9, 10 F: 13, 14, 15 Below F: 12 Basically the show should have ended at 8 -- it has nothing going for it after that point. 11 is the best of the bunch, but that isn't saying much. Season 12 is legitimately the most miserable TV watching experience I've ever had. It hurts to see a show be this bad, especially when it used to be one of the best shows to ever grace television. 13-15 operates on the premise of Jack being a likeable character, so the fact that Jack isn't a likeable character at all means that they have nothing going for it... which they do not. Sam and Dean being reduced to caricatures of themselves is disgusting, as they are anything but simple people. They have core elements that you could use to describe them, sure; but this is taking that to a whole new level by basing them entirely on the bare minimum traits you could use to identify them. Disrespectful to not just the characters, but the actors. Jared and Jensen are super good at what they do, so making them behave like action figures of themselves with predictable dialogue does nothing but make me want to scream. And Castiel being wasted as either the comedic relief, the exposition dumper, or the mcguffin retriever is also pretty criminal. Just saying. What made seasons 1-5 so good was that they had a plan for the story and characters, themes, and a tone/aesthetic, and stuck to them. They didn't cater or pander, they just went with what made sense and what worked within the world created by Eric Kripke.

Biggest mistakes of the whole show were (in no particular order): - Ressurecting Sam and Dean way too many times (not counting Groundhog Day, which was its own thing) - The Campbells being hunters (Mary secretly being a hunter John didn't know about was good twist but everything else was a mistake) - Samuel being resurrected in Season 6 (was too much of an unforgivable dick) - Turning Anna into a Terminator, then killing her - Rufus dying - Resurecting Mary WInchester - Ruining Crowley's character - Making Crowley's sacrifice instantly pointless - Making the land of Oz real (wut?) then throwing Charlie in it - Good/Evil Charlie episode (it was so stupid, seriously wut?) - Killing Charlie (THERE WAS NO REASON FOR THAT JUST CAME OUT OF NOWHERE) - Alternate universe/bringing back Bobby, Kevin, Charlie, etc. - Nephilim plot (I don't like Jack at all) - God's sister (lmao) - Chuck/God being the villain (what the fuck for?) - Sam's veterinarian girlfriend flashbacks (I literally skip them every time) - Sam not trusting Benny (baffling, pointless, and more to the point, grossly out of character) - Bringing back Lucifer, Michael, Lilith, Kevin, etc. - Doing nothing interesting with the fallen angels - Metatron. Just. I can't stand him at all. I struggle to see anything coherent about his character, he's either a complete joke or an evil mastermind and it's all just... a mess - ALL of Season 15, it was seriously the worst garbage I've ever seen - Never bringing back Cassie from Route 666. She was a great character. Also that episode was great and I hate that they basically turned it into a joke. - Lisa and her son. Boring ass characters and I never understood why Dean made such a big deal about them. Cassie was so much better. - Eileen. It's interesting that she's deaf but also a hunter? They don't even bother showing how she compensates her lack of hearing to be a competent hunter, it makes no sense. What little chemistry she has with Sam also doesn't work for me at all. - Killing off Meg before she and Castiel could develop a romance. - The Nothing. Stupid plot. Also the fact it takes Meg's appearance for... no reason.
