Since watching this video when it first came out I have had several nightmares where I have to perform supertasks. Such as cutting that cake or making holes or stacking squares of infinitely halfling size, etc. Odd random stuff. I also know in these nightmares I am making progress but always know that progress will never have an end point and the realization of that usually causes me to jolt awake. My point is... Thank you Michael for providing me with nightmares I never knew I feared.

Real answer: every time the video cuts he takes the sweater off, puts an extra sweater on and puts the first sweater back. Then the video starts and he takes it off again so he never has more than 3 or 4 layers of clothing at a time. Fake answer: Vsauce bends the subatomic laws of physics so he can wear as many as he wants

He Who Must Not Be Named a hypothesis is an assumption that’s not based any evidence, a theory is an explanation with the most evidence. Theoretical physicists deal with theory and implications of said theory, for example, the theoretical physicists working on the math behind alcubierre drives use general relativity and it’s implications if negative mass existed outside of virtual particles

That's an incorrect way to put it. Rather, the reason we have no paradoxes is because that's what a paradox refers to, something beyond the logic of the universe. Something our of reality. Something unreal, untrue. If they did exist, they wouldn't be called paradoxes. Even then, the fact that these paradoxes don't exist answers why the universe exists how it is now in the first place.

Leaf-blowing could be a supertask. I've noticed that every time I blow leaves in a straight line, half of the leaves go where I want, and half get pushed to the sides. In theory, it would take me an infinite amount of time to collect all the leaves normally. Fortunately for me, the leaves can only be subdivided so much.

I feel like the concept of the plank length helps give these hypothetical experiments conclusive results since it’s now understood that there is likely a point at which you could not make something like a slice of cake thinner than it already is. I may be wrong about as I am not very informed on the relevant information but it was just a thought I had that would help solve the questions posed by this classic sauce video.

I think the "we may just be very good at confusing ourselves" is a good point. Like, for example, the raising and lowering of a flag takes a not-infinitesimal amount of time. If you do it once for every half of the race left you finish, you will take an infinite amount of time, at the end all the time being taken up by raising and lowering the flags, sitting before the finish line simply flipping between them forever.

I made a similar paradox in my head about a year ago before I watched this, using decimals, where you can infinitely add a value to a number such as one by adding 0.1 then 0.01 then 0.001 and so on forever but yet, even though you're infinitely adding a value to the number you never add enough value to sum up to 2. Seeing as there is a limit to how small things can get, this means that adding an infinitely small value to something is impossible. This tells us how mathematics can create reality's that are impossible to the real world. Watching this really helped me understand my own paradox better. But what was probably the creepiest thing about this, was that I stayed up all night baffled by my own paradox and then the next day this video was on my for you page.
