Nightmarish isn't it? Like a baby screaming helplessly into the void. I don't usually those kind of vibes from saxophones. This song has a creepy, desolate vibe, it's really not what I was expecting at the end of this album, excellent stuff.

Billions of people take the advice of people that are mentally not capable of giving it. So they waste their short life away, having listened to the majority, thats always wrong!

Just another incredible song with music that just takes you along for a very rhythmic ride. I was turned onto this group while in the Army at Ft. Hood Texas. It will always be Ft. Hood to me. Just got back in the States from a tour close to the DMZ. I still remember the 1st time me and my Rock N Roll Army bros heard this group, School was the very first song we heard, we were blown away. We played the vinyl till we wore it out, but got another, cause their 2nd Album hadn't come out yet. That began my listening adventure with this amazing group. They have so many songs, that no matter where you're at or what you're doing, as soon as you hear a song by them, you just start singing it out loud or humming it, just enjoying it. It's so amazing to me how lucky my generation was to have such a great library of music, from so many different groups and to be able to enjoy it because of their love of music and wanting to make it sound better for us. Our generation knew the music was and is still fantastic, just because you still hear it everywhere. That's when you know it was a great time to be alive and a great time to grow up. We also had so many badass cars, that are still cherished and always will be. Thank You Supertramp for some very great memories and such good ear candy.

Every time I hear this anymore, it reminds me of a teenage boy who was dabbling with opiates. With a career in public safety, and a big heart this old man took him under his wing. I tried to warn him about the reality if his situation, and what would eventually happen if he didn't stop. I encourage him hoping he'd believe in himself, but failed. During my free time I enjoy searching for Native American artifacts, and was doing just that one day in August 2021. When I was finished I walked to adjacent property where he was staying to check on him, and found him dead from an overdose. Which had occurred not long before I found him, but you don't have long once breathing stops, maybe 4-6 minutes before brain damage. Over my lifetime, I've seen more than I care to remember. I'm former Senior Emergency Communications Officer, Hostage Negotiator, and EMS provider, but few things ever bothered me like this has. I can't help but wonder, if only... If only I had known I could have saved him. I was a medic, and was right next door as he laid there in respiratory arrest. Usually it seemed I'd find myself in the right place at the right time, but not that day. But on a good note, my own son whose 15 is a intelligent good boy, and not too hard headed, lol With him I know I'll never have to worry about drugs. I've made sure he knows the reality of it, how fast addiction gets you and where it leads. Anyway, thanks for letting me vent.

When I got the album in 1979 this was (and still is) my FAVOURITE song. I am a drummer and was just learning my craft (I was 15 in '79). I used to sit for HOURS with this song in my headset and me behind my 5 piece playit over and over getting every little thing right. Eventually I learned to play it on keyboards as well. I have a Trampfile since Even In The Quietest Moments on which was another masterpiece; Fool's Overture. Almost ALL off their stuff from first self titled "Supertramp" up to "Famous Last Words". It was a terrible thing for the group when Hodgson left for a solo career, "Brother Where Are You Bound is a good album with some great songs. It was a dark day in 1988 when the group officially disbanded.

Well who do you think you're foolin'? You say you're havin fun But you're busy going nowhere Just lyin' in the sun You tried to be a hero Commit the perfect crime But the dollar got you dancing And you're running out of time And you're messin' up the water And you're rollin' in the wine And you're poisoning your body And you're poisoning your mind And you gave me Coca-Cola 'Cause you said it tasted good And you watch the television 'Cause it tells you that you should Ooh how can you live in this way? (Why do you think it's so strange?) You must have something to say? (Tell me why should I change?) There must be more than this life (There must be more than this life) It's time we did something right (It's time we did something right) I said: I've heard it all before You're saying nothing new I thought I saw a rainbow But I guess it wasn't true And you cannot make me listen And I cannot make you hear So you find your way to heaven I'll meet you when you're there How can you live in this way? (Why do you think it's so strange?) You must have something to say? (Tell me why should I change?) We have no reason to fight (We have no reason to fight) 'Cause we both know that we're right ('Cause we both know that we're right) I said:

Dougie Thomson's mastery here... few simple notes at the right place at the right time... sorry he gave up his bass guitar. COME ON SCOTLAND! And of course Rick at his very best... I know the songs was written by Rog alone and Rick simply added his solo afterwards, but it makes me think as if this was their last contribution as a whole band... Jollie good video here, man...

Ad revenue is being paid to the copyright owner to the music; the 4-minute train cab-view visual is a Supertramp original content (they too get a share of the ad revenue).
