The studio recording would invariably be the best first reaction experience. Sure, this is a fine live performance but to hear the final master after weeks, even months of development is so much better.

I'm so happy to see your generation discover this fantastic group from my youth. One of the best guitar solos ever at the end of "Goodbye Stranger". They had several big hits but never got the full recognition they deserved.

Supertramp was unique. I love a couple of songs from Their Even In The Quietest Moments album , the title track, and Give a Little Bit which was covered nicely by The Goo Goo Dolls decades later!

SUPERTRAMP --Great song writers and great live where you get to see their multi-instrumental talent. In this song Roger goes from Wurlitzer to lead guitar, John goes from Saxophone and wind-instruments to Organ and bird whistle!! And yes, the studio-recordings are amazing through ear-phones also. This Album is a 10 and a must in anyone's Rock/Prog Rock collection. Every song is a winner!

I think I've suggested before... Even in the Quietest Moments, is to me, one of their best songs,. That, and Bloody Well Right, both off their Even in Quietest Moments album and then pretty much everything off of their Breakfast in America album. The Long Way Home, off the latter album holds special memories for me. Reminds me of when I was in n Jr. High school and going on drives in the foothills of L. A. with my mom. 😊

Seeing them live back in the day, what a night it was Halloween so most of the crowd was in costumes. They were right up there with Queen in performance. That was over 40 years ago now. Crime of the Century is still one of my favorite albums. More please. Enjoy

The studio album is the "Apocalypse Now" of the recording industry. The record company was persuaded to offer an enormous advance to get this album produced properly, and somehow it paid off. I believe it was the end of an era for the record companies to invest so much on a risk. When I visited German as a high schooler, Supertramp and Genesis could do no wrong.

Great song, though IMO the studio version is better - the second keyboardist (the one doing the bird-like whistles) normally plays saxophone for them - with him on keyboards you miss a dimension in Supertramp's sound. "Take the Long Way Home" next?

The album cover is based on New York with the waitress as the stature of liberty, seen from a helicopter. The song subject is a male player, loving and leaving women without any remorse.

They made 5 great albums in the row. But it's definitely ALBUM ROCK, not pop music. I think Logical song was the only radio friendly song they released. Give a Little Bit was also very commercial. This song was a surprise hit, not formatted for radio in 1979 had already begun to become formatted to oblvioin.

I greatly prefer the studio version then this live performance. Also this live version sounds just a tick or two faster then the studio/album version. The vocals in this live are not as clean and strained. I believe this "live" show was done many years later after the album was released.

great reaction great band....i think you paused it at the wrong time on the build up as they were starting those high vocals which is what catches people......apart from that love your enthusiam and appreciation for a band i really like. i think its a unique sound they have. i will sub your awsome channel.

Probably not a good idea to do live Supertramp as an introduction to the band. Studio version is best. Then same song later live.

I get that it's the NORM, but come on... the thumbnails with the *surprised* faces has reached an unacceptably, annoying level on ALL reaction video thumbnails. I dunno, lately I'll see these insulting COMMON thumbnails on the sidebar & say to myself; "f--k that, I'm not watching this bulls--t." Admittedly I'm here to leave this plea because you're a good, talented drummer & your personality is super likable because you aren't ON all the time. I understand that the clickbait face has become the standard, but somehow I doubt that you'd lose subscribers by standing out from the pack. Sure; little children, dull & complacent people probably don't mind it, but do you want to insult your audience & only appeal to them? Anyway, about a month ago I found your channel because you were reacting to Jamiroquai & I so badly wanted you to hear the Montreux 95 version of Space Cowboy because musically you would REALLY love it because they go into a super vibe, deep groove break in the middle. I wanted you to hear it so badly that I paid (which I never do because I'm far from flush) your channel, but oh well...
