You bet this is one of the things we will be trying. The US machines are somehow even scammier. We’ve tried using these tricks here. They just don’t work as well.

These machines are common in Japanese arcades. You can find Japanese-style crane games in some arcades elsewhere, like Round1 in the US, but they're still not near as elaborate as the ones you see on these videos. There are also a few sites/apps that will let you control a crane game remotely, and you can have prizes sent to you- these services are usually expensive.

@@grumpyman2 I am currently in japan, looked around such arcades in akihabara,shibuya and also an arcade with like 500 of these machines but sadly the prices were often very similar and the machines were also often just the standard crane machines
