Don’t you see in a cinema film mere shadows being transformed into great seas, mountains and buildings. The world is not outside you. The small world that is in the mind appears as a big world outside. The annihilation of the mind* is jnana (Self-knowledge or liberation)." ~ Sri Ramana Maharshi

Please don't mind my thoughtlessness, as I know very less. May I ask what this part means? I think Maharshi wants to convey that there is no such thing as time and distance, it's all in our head. But again, in our sense, the sense non-jnanis understand, why did he not give a direct answer to Rangan as to how many lives he will have to live? Of course Maharshi must be aware of this, but I do not know why he did not answer the question directly, and what he wanted to convey with these lines.

I have no words to say how much I respect Ramana Maharishi. When one enters the realm of spirituality, one realizes it is gigantic. As you described we must remember our goal. Moksha, Nirvana, The source, whatever the name you prefer. Thank you for this video. Hope to see more.

I was born after Bhagavan ' dropped ' the body . I was born thousands of miles from Arunachala . I was born into a protestant ( Anglican Christian ) community , where even Catholics were looked on as very different - let alone Hindus or Buddhists . Yet by stealth this God man - Sri Ramana Maharshi 🙏- has become a central , and quite natural , part of my life . What could be more supernatural than this !? The Mouna of a jnani is mysterious indeed 🙏🕉️

Great, but the difference is not as big as it seems at first sight: The silence or God Ramana Maharshi talks about , lived with, is the same eternal God spoken about in the New Testament. That's how I see it anyway. I know some people think about it differently ;)

@@mradventurer8104 Yes I very broadly agree . Bhagavan got to the Heart of the Judeo-Christian story . ' The kingdom of Heaven is within you ' , ' I Am that IAm ' ( Ramana Mahavakya ) , ' Tell them I Am sent you to them ' , ' love others as ThySelf ' , ' Before Abraham was I am ' - all quotes that get to the Heart of Christianity and Advaita Vedanta. The difference is not there in essence but I was just trying to say that other Christian traditions seemed strange let alone those of other non Christian traditions. Turn back time and plenty of evangelicals would tell me that all other religions are the works of the Devil ! Even my sister , who is a Baptist , has prayed for my soul in recent years !

"Bhagavan could recognise spiritual maturity in the people around him. He could also discern it in the animals that came to him. One day, Bhagavan’s mother asked, “Why does that dog always like to stay in your lap?” Bhagavan turned to me and said, “This dog is always in unwavering samadhi. A great soul has come in the form of a dog. Mother does not know this.” That Bhagavan had ceased to identify with his body was clear to me when he and I were walking on the forest path around the mountain. Having stepped on a thorn, I was lagging behind. Bhagavan stopped, came back to me and removed the thorn. Later, Bhagavan stepped on a big thorn. Lifting his foot, I was astonished to find many thorns sticking out of it; some were old and some were new. I lifted the other foot and found the same. “Which thorns will you remove?” asked Bhagavan with a laugh. Then he crushed the protruding thorn with the foot in which it was embedded and happily continued to walk." ~ Rangan (read more in the book 'Face to Face with Sri Ramana Maharshi')

There is no need to indulge in anything ritualistic to know that you are life itself, a sound wave in the Aether, light is nothing but a sound wave and the body is a receiver much like a walkie talkie radio handset. When the handset breaks what we call death of the body, the signal remains, a signal is a sound wave and is the Soul. ❤❤❤❤

@victorgleeson4045 You can't be. You can become a jnani, but not the caliber of Ramana - this was not a result of one lifetime of sadhana... But you can meet Him, if you manage to call. in His pure form. Ramana is refered to as Bhagavan, as he was the Supreme Lord manifested in human body. Lord Shiva Dakshinamurti - the giver of all knowledge and paths, the central anchor of all paths and paramparas, the origin of all mantras. yet he himself does not start any parampara, nor does he have disciples or special message. Another two cases of very unique Supreme realization in the last 200 years, please check them out - Ramakrishna Paramahamsa *1836-1886 and Nityananda of GANESHPURI *1897-1960. all three of them unique in their very own way.

@@neerajnarang2217 my friend, a state of want is never sated. What we require is different from what we want. Want is a word of an ideal. We all want the best but do we achieve that, leaving us wanting more. As a non-practising alcoholic & drug addict, we know all to well the cravings of want. Wanting leaves you open, desires are not fulfilled & ideals like Moksha, Mukti or even Nirvana fade because the body wants more, i.e. another round of Karmic mayhem. We do pray that this may clarify, even if a little. All the best on your path. Om Namah Shivya, Om Namah Narayana.

This indicates karmic link. I am similarly intooxicated by Bhagavan Ramana and Ramakrishna Paramahamsa presence, my bhavas alternate, I adore them both. Bhagavan graced me with upadesha and it is a FACT that he is still here and is non-local. And so is Ramakrishna. I connect to Divine Mother through Him. If you're so much bhakti, that is a good sign. Bhakti is a sine qua non prerequisite /or even complete marga in itself.

Yes, of course. I myself am often perceived by others as just a radiant pattern. I often move without walking. I move through walls and tree trunks. In fusion with the local clouds we transcend space and time. The local deities of our galaxy - the Milky Way - are my conversation partners. We often laugh together about existence and eternity. Sometimes my friends ask me about their future, about the nature of things and the origin of the world. Then my voice fails and I speak in tongues, like the saints of the past and the shamans of America.

Ramakrishna paramahamsa was also there during the British. Understand that jnanis never interfere in the natural course of events that have to occur. They usually guide those who go to them who are ready to receive the teachings. They're not interested or would want to in altering the course of events that is to take place.

He's also told : whatever is destined to happen will happen try as much as you may to not make it happen. Whatever is not destined to happen will not happen try as much as you can. A Jnani like Maharishi was incarnated to teach self-realization if he were incarnated as a freedom fighter, and if it were his mission to drive out the British, it would've happened.

I have great respect for maharishi, but demonstrations and performance of miracles, almost never achieve anything, or help mankind in any way. There's also a possibility that the miracles were performed by a higher being, through the maharishi. Only God knows the truth.

I don't understand a single word. It makes no sense. We humans are born, live for a while and die. Human beings have arms that allow them to create skillfully, legs to move around, and a brain with memory and linguistic ability. We are not more important than plants or animals, we are just conceited and have ego. No animal is worth less than humans, but they don't imagine anything, don't invent theories, religions and just live. Why do people put so much nonsense in this world and invent so much stuff instead of simply living, using their legs, arms and head for their everyday needs. Names, religions, titles, status, nationality, politics, all these things are absolutely unimportant to me. If I can live without all of this, after my death all of them will exist as little as I do. Live, let live. There is no extra human power, there is only a short time on earth. Trying to enjoy and take good care of yourself and not neglect your gifted body, that wasn't nature's intention. At least orient yourself somewhat towards this nature and its purpose. Too many people have learned their manipulative skills and unfortunately these skills are constantly used on others. Be human, live honestly, well, healthy and peacefully, reflect daily and never let your ego grow.

Certainly, you have the right to believe whatever you like. However, placing such a comment here is utterly audacious and inappropriate. Please be aware that you are missing a unique opportunity to go beyond your human identity and body consciousness.
