I love this amp except it was a bit too loud to use it at home. I replaced 6L6 output tube with JJ 6V6, EC83/12AX7 active mixer tube to ECC81/12AT7 and now it's very home friendly! I also tamed ECC81 reverb driver with 5965 tube. :)

You can use the effects loop like an attenuator. Just run a cable in and out of the FX loop and use the volume controls for the loop to keep it low.

@matthewperegoy Thanks! looking to get the head, already got the 2x12 cab. This sounds a better deal than the Black magick which doesn't have the effects loop.

Duuuude, I’ve heard the Black Magick and it’s not even based on the correct Amp! Lol!! But this? I’m Sold! I need a bedroom practice Amp and that’s great. The tone is perfect for what I do, and I wonder how it’ll sound with 10” Jensens coming out of Sound City 4x10” cabs I loaded. I’m just totally SOLD! I was going with a Fender. No. I was going to get the Black Magick, have it modded to sound correct and then copy the circuit and sell my version of the actual Page Amp. Well, we now have the SunDragon!

How is the master volume (send/return level) on this bad boy. I want to drive past breakup but can’t play loudly due to my confined living space

Hi, Danny. The FX Loop trick in this amp is really cool. Basically you can use the FX Loop send to drive the amp harder to get more breakup, and then use the return as a master volume. You could also set the FX loop to increase the overall volume and then use a footswitch to control it as a solo boost. The only catch is that this really only works if you don't have any effects in the loop, and it is only on the Comet Channel as the Thunderbolt side is just designed for clean headroom. Brian Cullen no. It has a very long history back to the Sears Catalog in the 1930’s. Supro Used to be a different Amp company and they were called Valco right before they changed their name in 30’s. Later, a few years ago, the cats at Pigtronix effects bought the brand and all that. So no. It has nothing to do with H&K
