I absolutely ❤ these skates!!!! The first time i put them on it felt as if the boot was uniformed to my foot… I took off after years of not skating.. Yes, i love them over the MOXIE LOLLYs !!! The fit and the wheels were just amazing! I bought a second color..

"I need a burly human" 😁 I do too! I think Suregrips will be my choice if and when my vintage ones die. Both my indoor rink skates and outdoor skates are vintage but refurbished running gear on old plates.. My outdoor skates are full, grain hand made leather boots from the 70's. Both pairs are solid. Both feel different. I just love vintage skates. I've skated for 40 years. Great to watch you. This is the type of skating I love. Free and out in the world where every crack in the path is a challenge. Happy skating to you both forever!

The Sure Grips are a very solid mid-level skate! I've since graduated to Edea skates for the added support, but for the price, my Sure Grips served me very well!! Gosh how I'd love to peep your vintage skates. 40 years of skating is absolutely aspirational!!! Happy skating to you forever as well 🥰🥰

When I first got my Lollys I still preferred my vintage skates!! Now that I’m used to the Lollys, I realize how much worse the vintage ones skate 😭

Me too! Then I realized that my vintage skates had a longer wheel base and that's why they felt more stable

Completely!!! I feel like turning & maintaining speed have big differences--the vintage ones require more effort! Mine had trucks that were pretty shot haha rusted and the bar the wheel attached to would rotate w/ the wheel a little bit

Great demonstration, I could almost feel the stiffness of the boot in the beginning!! I’m very curious to see a comparison between a vintage skate and these actually, I’ve never seen or worn vintage skates 😳

The wheelbase is shorter so they will take some getting used to but will allow u to be more skilled in the long run.

I just got boardwalk's today they are my first pair and so far they kinda hurt but I've been in them for multiple hours. I love them though

Where did you find the boots were painful for your feet? Mine are also super wide (4 1/4 ") but I heard the boardwalks were good for this??

They squeeeezed like hell on the sides of my feet. The Boardwalks are most definitely NOT good for wide feet out of the box!! BUT the suede is quite pliable if you either take them to a cobbler or do a home remedy to stretch the material out

Yooooooo! How would you compare the maneuverability in the trucks compared to impala Skates?

Yo! I've never skated on impalas, but generally I've heard that impalas aren't the greatest starter skate. But regardless of skate, if you want more manueverability, you can swap out the cushions for softer ones or loosen the trucks (quarter turn at a time, and make sure they are still firmly attached!! I've had a truck fly off on me before haha) hope that helps!

i just purchased these and i’m having a hard time figuring out if it’s too small or if it just needs to be broken in. i’m usually a size 7 in women’s and all the reviews said to size down one so i purchase a 5 men’s/6 women’s. the shoe fits length wise and when i’m just sitting around. no pain then. however, it’s a tight fit at the toes when i start moving around in them.

I think by sizing down they just meant to convert your womens size to a men’s, in which case you would be a 6. Maybe that’s why they feel small? You could always try to get them stretched out by a cobbler, I know a lot of people do that

@@ange5567 hey! i've been testing them out for a bit and they feel better. i think i just need to break them in. i went to a skating rink this weekend and was able to skate for about an hour and a half before my feet started hurting. it would hurt after like 10 minutes when i first got them! still not sure if i ordered the wrong size but it seems to be working out for me!

100% the break in is brutal for these!! I ended up loving mine after about a month though--I'm sure they'll continue to cozier & cozier for you!!

@@ange5567 Why do they have to make the skate sizing so patriarchal SMH what goofballs. Yes to the cobbler though!! I had to get my Edea skates widened in the toe box and it helped SO much.

I'd say they are definitely beginner-friendly! Although if you're still not sure whether skating is for you, there are cheaper skates on the market just to test it out. Also keep in mind that the break-in is rough, and that's not true of all skates!! I hope that wouldn't dissuade you from loving skating if it's a bit painful in the beginning!

This is indeed Newport Beach! I've come to learn that stiffness is actually a great thing in a skate--means added support! However the downside of these is definitely that stiffness can make the break-in period a little bit tough!! All around though, I loved these skates! Great value, mid-tier skates!! Hope that helps ❤
