In case it helps anyone . I’m a ladies 6.5 sneaker ( 9 1/4 inches ) and I’m sure grip fames and boardwalks I’m a mens 6. The 5 fit but my big toe felt too compressed so I sized up ! Just in case this helps I’m also a 6 mens in VNLA even though per the chart I’m supposed to be a mens 5 . Again my toe was not happy so I sized up. If you don’t have a skate shop near you - roller skate nation online has great customer service and will answer all your questions

These things run big, even for skates. I'm a women's 8 (between 7.5 and 8) and have to always use size charts to figure out what size to buy. I'm a 7 in Moxi Panthers, a 6 in Sure-Grip Prisms, and a 6 in Fames are still too loose.

I also have some boots that are slightly narrow. I simply bought a boot stretcher and it did the job and now the boots are much more comfortable. This should be a considered alternative to full replacement. By the way Moxis are made by Riedell. Correction: skates do come in 1/2 sizes and also generically going down one size will not guarantee a fit as it really depends on the skates. e.g. i wear 9.5 in Nike gym shoe, 9 in dress shoes, 9.5 in Betty Lytle by Hyde (10 if I want to wear thick socks), 9.5 in Riedell 120, 8.5-9 in Riedell OG 172(again depending on thickness of socks).

So what skates did you get for rhythmic skating?

How do you adjust the trunk...meaning that other skates I had, they had 2 screws one on the top, and another one on the bottom and you needed a narrow wrench to get in there and loosen it...these don't have these so do I just adjust the top screw and will that be safe?

Newbie question, is there a right and left boot or it doesn’t matter?
