Sure St Helena installing a new fibre optic cable, adding resilience to their communication network on the island.
This operation involved a 1.7km cable pull, out from Rupert's Valley, up over Munden's Hill and down into Jamestown.

Have been following St Helena since the airport was just opening, your island has come a long way with technology in the last 5 years or so and I feel the future for St Helena bright

Such knowledge, skills and physical energy. I am impressed with these guys. And its not easy producing a video like this. Only folks serious about their craft would put so much time and effort into the research alone, not forgetting the getting up early.

It was certainly a challenge making the film across this type of terrain, but it's also a thrill working out the logistics and bringing it all to life on the screen. (Helps when you enjoy what you do) The Sure team were brilliant though, very helpful and made it fun. 😊

Before retiring I worked for a communication company in North Carolina USA. The men who worked with the fiber would have been very impressed with the men with Sure doing the installation in this extremely steep slope. What does Sure stand for?

Thanks for the comment @jjdogfather 👍 good to hear from someone from the trade. Don't think Sure is an acronym. The company changed its name from Cable & Wireless South Atlantic Ltd to Sure South Atlantic Limited in 2013. You can find more here: www.sure.co.sh/about-us/company-information/
