I'm trying a new infusion set for the first time. I typically use the Silhouette infusion set, but I have been having trouble with my sites so I'm trying out the Sure-T Infusion set with Steel Cannula.

I started to look into other infusion sets for leaner body types and I learned a lot of people had great success with the steel infusion sets - so I decided to try one. It works a little differently than the sites I was used to, so I wanted to make a video showing step-by-step how I use the Sure-T Infusion set for my Medtronic pump.
First I’m going to go through the usual steps:
1. Disconnect and Rewind the pump
2. Refill the reservoir
3. Prime the pump tubing (be sure to prime all the way to the insertion needle)
From there, the steps are straightforward:
1. Hold the infusion set insertion piece by flipping the plastic wings upwards and pressing them together.
2. Peel off both pieces of the paper backing from the insertion piece.
3. Pull off the needle guard.
4. With one hand, pinch up skin at your site. With the other hand, insert the needle straight in at a 90 degree angle.
5. Press adhesive securely to skin.
6. Remove paper backing from the set connector and secure adhesive to skin. Be sure to place it on an area of your body that allows for easy disconnecting from tubing.
