Shan compares the ‪@SureFireLLC‬ M640DFT and M340DFT Scout Light "Turbo" rifle lights. The main difference between these two lights is the battery size; one takes an 18650 and the other is smaller with an 18350. Can the 18350 version provide the same amount of output? You'll have to watch to find out.

Another excellent analysis! I’d really like to see you guys test and compare Remington 870 integrated forend lights from SureFire, Streamlight, and Nightstick. There’s not much technical content about these forend lights out there.

This is an excellent, well made video, with hard data! Thank you very much! The graphs showing the actual throttling were amazingly helpful. And beats out many other reviewers in approach. I would really look forward to videos like this in the future! Then can combine ergo videos from others like Hop from TFB.

Great stuff. I base most of my light choices nowadays on the "first ten minutes" chart, which you guys are the only ones doing to my knowledge. IMO, the typical SF program of flat output for one or two minutes (with a reset upon power cycle) with a subsequent transition to lower-output/higher-runtime is perfect. The 18650 turbo chart looks really good. That first minute-and-a-half looks like a genuine "flat" regulation scheme minus the expected loss due to heat. Old SF lights looked like that for the entire runtime (albeit at lower output). I used to want full output for the whole runtime like the old P2X FURY heads, but now I see the value in stepping down if you are using extended constant-on (beyond a minute or two).

Please do the Cloud Defensive Legacy body with 100k candela head. And test the output of every switch from Surefire Modite Unity. To see if theres really significant difference between outputs based on switches.

Great test as always. Do you think the lumen drop after the first minute is caused by temperature or voltage drop? Have you ever tried running a freshly charged battery for a minute, letting it rest to room temperature, and testing its output vs. a battery that was continuously run?

Ok those numbers are appreciated, thank you , but the real questions we should be asking is what about when using a remote tape switch , rather than the tail cap button ? And what switch will even handle these for max output . Most people are not going to use the tail cap. Edit : I do of course realize this is a labor of love since these things aren't going in holsters .

Seems like the Cloud Defensive Rein 3.0 is best way to go between Modlite, Surefire, Olight, Streamlight....With the Cloud you get everything you need in the box without the need to piece together extra parts...Even the new Olight Javalot Tac at $140 you're getting everything...With the Modlite Hog WML you need to piece together extra parts that will cost you nearly $500

Hello, is premium rifle lights lumen full run time test non stop from turning light on until battery dies or like for example if you turn light off and wait to get cool gonna return to maximum beam power?

I love my Surefires BUT Cloud Defensive is killing the light game PERIOD!

You're right, Cloud Defensive is absolutely killing it. Better marketing, they listen to customer feedback and improve their products, better overall package with what's included, plus leader in candela and lumens. They're also the most expensive but you get everything out of the box and they regularly run 20-25% off sales throughout the year.
