I bought a used 4gpm machine that came with a 16" surface cleaner. The thing takes forever to "spool up" and get up to the right rpms. The guy I bought it from said that he tore up a customer's pool deck with it. I took a look at it and I found that the jets on it are (I think) 0 degree. I think that would explain it. What tips should I look for to make this surface cleaner more effective and efficient?

What's the purpose of having that much tips, does it wear with time?

Hey, thanks for the comment, in my case we have 8 of these surface cleaner so we change tips about 2-3 times per year. Yes, they get clogged and stop working as effectively. But, they are relatively low cost.
