Surfacing is a 360° immersive horror and suspense film created by Zach Reese, Dustin Stuppy, Patrick Hodge, and Breanna Wong. It was filmed using an Insta360 Pro 2 and uses ambisonic audio.
The viewer begins the experience in a dimly lit basement. We hear water moving through pipes and creaking floorboards from a person walking upstairs. A visitor arrives. Commotion builds, and we're eventually confronted with a paranormal presence lurking in the darkness. Surfacing is a film with more questions than answers, but one that invites viewers to reflect on their perceptions and how they do (or don't) align with reality.
This video is intended for headset viewing through KZfaq VR using an Oculus Quest or other compatible device. You can also watch on desktop or mobile by clicking-and-dragging to change perspective. Headphones are recommended for a more immersive experience.
