Our son and his wife adopted two special needs girls from China 6 years ago and your story parallels theirs in many ways. Our Ellie ( or ELL Bell as we call her) was malnourished, is autistic , and has had surgery for a mild form of spina Bifada. Her small accomplishments are huge in our eyes, as Izzy’s are in yours. God directed Ellie to our son and wife as we feel that she would have died had she been left in China, as Izzy was led to you.

If Isabelle can talk....sure she will say..."I Love You Mummy & Thank You So Much For Your love"...God Bless You & Happy New Year to your family!

Youre not just bathing Izzy with water Ashley x youre bathing her with love and care and it shows - it may not be so noticeable up close but from the outside looking in we can can see the changes - every day of love,care and therapy is like dipping a candle and making it stronger 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧🙏 what a difference to see her looking bonnie, clean clothed, loved and fed and having a daily teeth brushing compared to the broken little hungry unwashed orphan that you scooped up into your arms that first day 💕 the difference is really showing Ashley - who knows how technology will progress in the next 5 years in ways that could release Izzy - they are already giving people electronic eyes that bypass missing optic nerves and are wired directly into the visual cortex of the brain , and giving hearing vests that vibrate on the torso - who knows 🤞☘🌻

My England is not good but I really love you all and I always pray to God to give you everything in this world and we proud of what you are doing ❤❤❤

I worked with a family with a 10 year old boy in a similar cast as Izzy. He was also a patient at Shriner's Hospital. Amazing how kids adapt. He would run around the playground with the other kids, who would help him when he needed a helping hand. Thankfully his hips healed up after surgery & was able to resume his normal activities after being in the cast for a couple of months.

Thanks for answering some questions that a lot of us would like to ask, but not sure how to word it. Her personal hygiene was my concern. You've surely got it under control. I'm sure she appreciate all that you do for her. Her life is brighter than ever!! God bless you all.

It is Sunday afternoon here in New Zealand. After watching your videos about Isabelle last night, I woke this morning thinking about her. I feel for her, as many years ago I myself spent the best part of a year entrapped in medical equipment and plaster. Watching the changes in her since she came home with you, as she experienced the love of your family and the freedom to move, it must have then been so upsetting and confusing for her to now have the situation (albeit necessary for her future well-being) where her movement is so restrained again. Little sweetheart.. my heart goes out to her. Would you tell her I watched the videos and I thought, looking at the delight she takes in moving, she might be a dancer like me? If so, she might like to find a way to dance with her arms until her legs are free from the spiker cast? She might like some gentle piano music, and someone could help her gently move her arms to the music.. Also, thinking about it, I wonder if there is someone in your community that could teach her how to count and 'speak' through touch (like Helen Keller's teacher did). I know she can hear, but it may be movement is her 'first language' - if she is a kinesthetic learner it might be easier for her to learn to communicate initially through touch? If she could learn to 'say' yes and no, and count to 3, (using touch) it could be a breakthrough for her to understand she can communicate with you, and that you 'hear' her. I am praying that the Lord greatly bless you. That he cause his face to shine upon you. May his abundant love surround you at this time, bringing such joy and the peace that passes all understanding. May God's answers to your challenges with Isabelle be more than you could ever imagine, as you continue to shine the light.
