Thank you so much for uploading this- it comes at a really good time for me personally. I'm a US MD who quit Surgery after the first year to apply into Radiology this year. It's been a process that has demanded a lot of maturity, and a lot of defining for myself what success and ambition mean to me in this life. In short, it's made me far, far more intentional with my work. I'm terrifically happy that a field like Radiology exists for a family-loving guy like me and am feverishly hoping to join your ranks soon!

Really nice to hear people to say things like this. For some people getting the accolades and respect is enough for them, more power to them. I'm glad people are becoming more comfortable talking about money publically as well. Yeah working in healthcare is paid on the lower side considering the training and responsibilities, but no one goes into jobs like this to be a martyr, not be able to pay bills, not see their family, not see friends, not look after their own health and run their self into the ground, as many often do. At the end of the day money on its own doesn't make people happy but money and time enables us to do all these things that make us happy more freely and easily

Interestingly I’ve seen this from the other perspective as a radiology trainee in Australia. When people hear that you do Rad they are often impressed because it’s associated with a great lifestyle and is difficult to get accepted onto. Unfortunately the belittling from surgeons still exists on this side of the world.
