Surgical Strike Fame Col Nectar, Kirti Chakra, SC . The Manipur government appointed retired Colonel Nectar Sanjebam, a highly decorated officer of 21 Para (Special Forces) known for leading India's surgical strike across the Myanmar border in 2015, as the strife-hit state's senior SSP (combat) - a position created for him. Col Sanjebam, an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, took premature retirement after serving for two decades, with most of his tenure dedicated to battling insurgency in Manipur. He was awarded the Kirti Chakra in 2015, India's second-highest peacetime gallantry award, for his leadership in cross-border raids on insurgent camps following a major attack in Manipur's Chandel district near the Myanmar border. Earlier, as a Captain, he had received the Shaurya Chakra gallantry award in 2005.
The newly created role reflects his exceptional military background and experience. He is now overseeing the supervision and operational conduct of Manipur police commandos. His appointment comes amid heightened security concerns in Manipur following ethnic violence that erupted in May 2023. Appointment of Col Sanjebam was made directly by the state cabinet without the submission of a formal proposal by the state police headquarters, deviating from the typical process for creating new positions within the government departments.

A very important and timely interview. Nectar Sajebam is the perfect man for the job... his appointment renews my faith in the Indian State because he knows the importance of talking to people on the other side. Manipur needs a sheriff who just lays down the law...fairly. His clarity on Manipur and what it needs is brilliant. Sir I wish you all success in your endeavours. I am researching Myanmar from Gauhati University and in my humble opinion your contribution to the future of your state's and the Indo-Myanmar frontier relations will be one for the history books. Sir I sympathise with your frustration..all these years of work undone by turmoil in Myanmar thats beyond our country's control. You are right Sir...this route is the future. The Myanmar junta's grip on the their country is now tenuous with the Bamar majority turning to armed rebellion against the generals....Could there be a possible balkanization of Myanmar? If so, would India benefit from maintaining friendly relations with the pro-democracy armed groups in Myanmar like China is doing on their border with Myanmar ? Nectar sir has to take care to maintain his neutral objective stance. That is what will give him legitimacy. Its definitely a tough job and thankless too...both sides will have difficulty trusting you. But whatever the means, the disarmament will happen. I am worried. I hope the situation which seems calm now can be defused and doesn't explode. Hoping for peaceful and fair elections.

Aditya, Wish you all the best for... See many of us including me never got any specific guidance or training for SSB. However, what you need to be: ▪︎ Be authentic.. ▪︎ Take initiative in all the tasks during SSB. ▪︎ Show extreme positivity in your thoughts while writing picture stories...and..must appear from your personality. ▪︎ There must be coherency between what you say, what you write & what you think... And, all this comes from your personality which has been developed over a period of time..under the influence of your parents, schooling, your friends & family... So, just don't worry..go with open & positive mind..I am sure you will make it. God bless you.

@adityasingh13794 develop good habits..read book Atomic Habits...&...follow... Personality what you have developed by now can not be drastically changed at this stage...just follow good habits..

Bharat keliye toh Meitei Lion kuch bhi karta hai aur aaj khud ka state Manipur May 2023 se jal rha hai civil war challu hai aur Modi ne aaj tak kuch bhi nahi bola.. toh PM ne kya socha hai Manipur ke bare mein, ki Manipur bharat ke hisse nhi hai chahe maro ya kuch bhi ho PM aur BJP kuch lenna dena nhi hai
