No matter how old you are or where you are, you can always find enjoyment. Even in cloudy weather, vibrant flowers stand out, and when the sun shines, even withered grass shines like a tapestry of autumn. Here, I spend my time chasing after ever-changing lights and shadows, observing the state of the plants and flowers.
That being said, weeds are still thriving, and there is plenty of garden work to be done before winter. Today, I tackled the issue of supporting poles in the vegetable garden that had been on my mind. Until now, I had been using scattered pruning branches to support the growing mini tomatoes, resulting in a chaotic jungle-like garden.
Starting this winter, I decided to set up more orderly support poles by cutting branches and tying them with palm twine. I felt quite satisfied with my work. Yes, my expectations may be low. After all, I am like "Donguri Oba-san" (an old lady who is content with acorns).
