In this video, we share a day in the life of a woman in her 60s who is going through a hot summer in Japan.
Her morning starts with a refreshing, vitamin-rich smoothie. Then she greets the plants in her garden and stretches.
When she sweeps, she uses her mother's old broom. The sound of the broom echoes well here on a brisk morning.
At the end of the hallway, there is an old chest of drawers with my mother's sweaters in it. I sort through them, separating the sweaters that do not have holes in them.
There I find my grandfather's old dictionary. It is tattered, but upon closer inspection, I find it to be full of interesting content.
In the afternoon, we have tea on the porch. I bought some traditional Turkish sweets in Ginza. These sweets have a wonderful taste that reminds me of the glory of the Ottoman Empire.
It is a time to relax and unwind.
Please join me in my peaceful day.
