Surprising My Dad With a Low Mileage Foxbody Mustang GT!

About a year ago, my Dad and I purchased our first Foxbody Mustang Project car which ended up getting put on hold due to time and our schedules not lining up. I recently bought a low mileage 1988 Foxbody Mustang and figured it was only fair to allow him back in on our 50/50 partnership deal! Moral of the story, he was extremely stoked on how nice this 1988 Mustang was!

You should include your dad more. Of all the videos I’ve watched of yours I don’t remember seeing him. Y’all have a good relationship. And both love cars. My dad passed away last year and I miss him like hell. He was a Chevy guy but I was never too hard on him for it. It was cool to see your interaction with your own dad.

Your dad knows how to drive! Loved his reaction. I was 22 when I bought my 87 LX hatch new, and it was the thing to have back then for sure. Now I just have to get my boys to learn how to drive it. Hope you two have lots of fun with it!

i love how these foxbody are making a comeback!!!! i owed my first one 6 years ago and would see a foxbody like once every month, now that I bought my second one i see a lot more and its amazind that they are being brought back to life.

Im probably a few years younger than your ole man, but I remember when I graduated High school I joined the military and the first thing I bought was a new 5.0 and I was the coolest guy in my hometown when I went home on leave lol. Foxbodys just has that presence that everyone loves, there's no other sound like it with a set of off road h pipes and 40 series flowmaster lol

This was awesome!! Man I still can’t believe you got that car for 8,500$!! Love seeing how close you and your dad are Derek. I lost my dad in 15 and I miss him everyday. Cherish these times bro. I was wondering about the AC in the last video because you didn’t mention it. Even if you need a new compressor it shouldn’t be very expensive at all.

This is great to see! Awesome to see a father and son sharing their love of cars. (My dad and I are the same way.) This is also the first time I'm getting to see your dad. He gives me the impression he is an extremely hard worker. He kind of reminds me of John Wayne in a way.

Throw some subframe connectors on blue if you haven't. The sn-95/newedge mustangs are actually the last of the foxbody frames to get really technical. They all love subframe connectors. Made my 01 feel super solid .... damn near like a truck frame.

Great video man🦾, my parents separated when I was small so I never had a father figure in my life, I had a 2010 4.6 mustang but they crashed into to me so then I bought a 2012 Camaro 2SS 😅 just to hear tht chop, I’m a gear head and fanatic for cars but I always wished I can experience tht father and son bond with cars and building them and stuff, this video gave me a little glimpse of tht and it made me smile, thank you for tht bro it might be just a video to you, but it meant a lot to me, thank you 🦾

Gave my son my 92 LX 5.0 when he turned 16. I’ve had it since it was new. It’s just as clean. Deep Emerald Green He’s lovin it!

Very cool video with your dad. My father and i built a 66 gto together. The time you spend with him is priceless. Oh and the first mod i every did on my foxs and new edge were subframe connectors. Blue two valve would love some steeda full length subframe connectors. The are basically fox bodies themselves. Great video.

Very nice car man great find! I have owned 18 mustangs over the last 20 years and 14 of them were foxbody 5.0s currently have a 2019 s550 velocity blue GT 6 spd. But no matter what foxbody will always be my favorite I will have one again to go along side of my s550!!

Great video. I was class of 87 but unlike your dad, I remember everyone wanting the IROZ Z28's and C4 Corvettes back then. And those few who had the 1988 Calloway twin turbo corvette were really king of the streets. Grats on such a great find. You really stole that car for what you paid.

Bro that is so awesome! I’m 35. My buddy had an 89 in 06 our senior year and it was cammed and sounded mint on Cobra R’s. I have a GT350R now but i still want one of these so very badly. You finding that for $8,500 is freaking crazy! I told my wife that if I saw that posted, I’d pull up in it same day!… she laughed… I’m dead f’n serious! See who’s laughing then lol

I remember driving shotgun with my dad when he bought our 92 GT from his friend with 50K miles. It smelled like new and drove to Mexico like a dream for 2,000 miles.

Please Tint it asap! Thats one fresh GT! Love it man, great score. Do not sell this even for double your money, I wouldnt sell either. This is the car that made me fall in love w cars. My best friends older brother had a black 89 GT like this when we were in middle/high school back around 95. Bump for the offroad H as well.

Your daddy is not lying when he said the GT is the car that everyone wanted. Well, there was the one that were in love with the Camaros, but most wanted the Mustang. I had a black convertible 85 GT that I just loved.

Brings back memories of my very good friend who passed in 2017. He came to the US in 87, bought a new black GT in 88. He lived in NJ, worked in NY at the UN. As such, the car stayed garaged majority of the time while he takes the train to the city. It had 49k miles on it when he passed. His wife offered it to me but I passed on it as I had 3 cars at the time and I have nowhere to park it. Mustangs are one thing we have in common. I still have my 2014 GT with 19k miles in it.

I recently bought an 86 mustang 5.0 5 speed as my second mustang, it’s no where near the condition of yours tho and it’ll require a lot of work before it’s even close but I’m excited to have it looking good so maybe I can roll it down to mustang week next year. That thing is sick tho, one of the nicest well kept foxes on the road

He is correct about this car back in the day. At 19 I bought a brand new 88 in Nov 87. I drove it for two years and sold it to be more responsible. However, I couldn't stand not having one so I bought another brand new 91 black. Both manuals of course. Your car is very clean and takes me back. I paid about 13 thousand for the first and closer to 15 for the second. Another guy my age had a new IROC Camaro and everyone wanted us to race. We finally did and the Mustang spun off the line but as soon as it hooked up pulled on the Camaro and never stopped. Now I have a 14 Camaro SS 1LE. I love all American muscle.
