During the morning of Friday, November 30, 2023, an approximate two-year old juvie visited the Surrey Reserve nest. The views are first from the north cam and then from the south cam. After doing a fly by the nest tree, a young juvie landed in the nest. The young eagle picked at the nesting material, maybe looking for a bite of food. He/she played with the materials in the nest, doing some hoping and carrying of grasses. During the visit, the juvie hopped on the little perch, perching on the tip of the branch and then returning to the nest for more play. The young eagle flew as Brit then flew into the nest, vocalizing to defend her nest. This young eagle is a beautiful bird being around two years old.
Thank you, Hancock Wildlife Foundation for allowing us the privilege to follow Brit and Rey throughout their nesting season this year. Join us as we follow this magnificent eagle pair this year.
