I grew up in Berkeley, at 5:15 you were 2 blocks from there. You need more and better locks. Also, put a tile or apple tag in it. I had 11 bikes stolen from me while I lived there. From the time before cordless tools, twice people used grinders with an inverter and car battery to defeat my locks. I had an e-bike with lead acid batteries (170 pounds, 13hp) that I caught people in the act attempting to steal twice. Once they were unable to throw it in the back of a pickup, the other time the thief had ramps, but I got my neighbors to come out and they abandoned the theft.

That usually happens with the throttle on my ebike (72v stealth) if the wires for the throttle at the connector get moisture in them. Took a 15mi ride from HB to Balboa and had to pedal all the way home cause it did that.
