Were all six of them driving? I personally got out of a vehicle twice when I was about 19 because the driver was an asshole however, if he had had an accident before I could persuade him to stop his stupid behavior you would be talking about me as if I were driving the goddamn car. You see how vigilante's so often hang the wrong people? You don't know how those people may have been screaming for her to stop her Reckless Behavior.

My mom told me a story about my dad (R.I.P.) when he was young. He was out cruising around with buddies in a car, and the driver started to drive really fast. My father objected and said “if you don’t slow down, stop and I’ll get out and walk“. Then one night it happened to me and I remembered that story. I told my friend to slow down. He teased me, but eventually he did. Thankfully, I’ve had the benefit of two great parents. Edit: I sent this to my mom who is of the age that she is close to her end. I showed her this and I told her “this comment will live forever on the Internet” thanks to those who support this idea

I can attest to that. Around 1970 I was in a car with a couple of drunk idiots, so-called friends. I demanded to be let out, and had to walk a few miles into town in the rain. On the outskirts of town on a bend onto a bridge I found the car. They had gone into a tree, and both had gone through the windscreen. Both miraculously survived, but of course with significant injuries. I was so glad I wasn't in that car because I might not have survived. It was a life-long lesson. I learned that there are indeed worse things than walking in cold rain without a raincoat.

1984 I refused to get in a van with others over this. That van went over a cliff side and rolled seven times over a 200' descent, all in the van died. I got home after walking five miles, my older brother laughed at me and called me a loser for walking. The next day he came to me and apologized and told me about the tragedy he heard about, told me he took it to heart that I saved my own life. My blood ran cold when he told me about it.

*Most definitely, at 17 I refused to get in the car because my 3 friends were drinking at the party.* I don't drink and my friend refused to let me drive his car. I did my best to plead with them and my friend of 11 years spit in my face and call me a b*tch for trying to be the voice of reason. I know he was drunk but it took every fiber of my being to not beat him into the ground. I said F it and started walking back to our neighborhood (6 miles away). They even drove alongside me for about 5 minutes, cussing me out, heckling me talking smack because I decided to walk. They were involved in a single car accident striking a utility pole. Two of them have severe hip and leg injuries and are unable to compete in football and one lost his college scholarship. The driver only got minor injuries. You guessed it - they all carried a deep resentment towards me for not fighting harder for them to do the right thing.

@@zhenren9703True, most cars today are fast compared to the cars we drove back in my youth. You can go online and check the car test numbers for old and new cars. Look up the test results for a classic old “hot” car like a 1960’s Pontiac GTO muscle car against a little modern grocery getter six cylinder Honda minivan and you’ll be surprised. However a lot of electric cars like the Tesla have astonishingly fast acceleration with no internal combustion engine drama so you can get yourself in big trouble in the blink of an eye.

High school kids here have done various versions of this same crash, on this one road just out of town. There are big trees along the road. Hitting them at 100+ mph will kill you. People have come out and campaigned for the removal of the trees, thinking it's the trees that are at fault. The kids in this video, over 100 mph in town, thru a red light..............I did some crazy things as a kid, but this is suicidal. Amazing more werent killed.

Tesla Model 3 only seats 5 people... and per news reports because the rear passengers were ejected. They probably had no seatbelts because they were beyond capacity. Per police statement there was alcohol in the vehicle, that does not mean the driver was impaired but still, to be going 100mph on city streets?

One of the problems is Teslas are "Too fast" for a typical sedan. Parents buy these, not realizing that a base Model 3 is almost as fast as a base 2017 Corvette. (0-60 in 2.9, QM 12.5). Insurance companies should treat these like Corvettes, when a young driver is in the home.
