Doing anything fancy other than the douche as Persians in dark age would be heresy. Lucky you they don't have the tech or you'd be dead. Jokes aside they seem to be one of the most versatile civs out there. I knew about their nomad start with docks but this is really impressive. Just extra 50 food and wood allows such varied options for them. And I used to think it's a useless bonus back when I was a noob who didn't follow build orders.

Persians lost their faster working TC's since this build was made. But, this actually just makes the build easier since you don't invest as much food into villagers as early.

Nice. How do you come up with a build like this? How do you know all these details (build time etc)? How many hours of play before you get to that level? 😊

I played like 200 games with persians before they got nerfed a few months ago, so I had a lot of experience with the civ. Earlier in DE, it was standard to choose civ. Most stats that you can't find in game can be found at ageofempires.fandom.com/ I've been playing this for like 4 years and started to get even more competitive when DE came out (1 year ago). I also played Starcraft 2 competitively for 4 years before starting aoe.

there's something i don't quite get here. Even if you manage to kill one or two vils with the drush, shouldn't the enemy react by going to feudal age as soon as possible and counter with a rush? (Archer rush so as to not delay castle time even more)

That's why walling is so important for this. Most feudal rushes will get stalled long enough by walls for you to go up yourself and get towers.

It works really well if you can execute it. Even if you can't get any villager kills, you can deny walls and follow up with something like archers.

@@SurvivalistAoE I will give it a try. I've been experimenting with a lithuanian fast drush (not the instant one), that hits at a similar time as this build, but I always struggle against civs with stronger eco in mid game. But with top tier persians it should work even better.

@@davidkiss8845 I've found that getting walls up at the right time is crucial (this is at 1800+ level).
