Spring came! The snow continues to fall! The log hut perfectly shelters from snowfalls and snowstorms! I built an underground hiding place for storing things, the hiding place will keep things intact and protect them from rodents. For the construction of the cache, I used a small plastic container with a tight lid. During the snowfalls, I managed to cook a very tasty and simple dish of vegetables, wheat noodles and chicken. I congratulate you on the coming of spring!

Thank you for sharing your warm and cozy cabin and your vegetable and chicken with noodles meal. The snowy wonderland that surrounds your cabin is beautiful and makes me nostalgic for the snow-filled winters I had as a child. Watching you dig the hole reminded me of having to do so when the ground was deeply frozen one year. My grandpa showed me how to remove the top as you did. Then he built a fire and let it burn down. We could dig 2 feet/about half a meter then another fire & dig more. It was softer earth, like it would be in summer.

It was a very enjoyable video. You are an accomplished cook my friend! I would love to enjoy your food in the woods one day. And, what a perfect setting. The noodles is an item that other people that have cabins or dug out cabins should cook up as it is easy, full of carbs and goes with just about everything you cook. Looks forward to seeing you in the next video!!!

Many people like to stay at home listening to the blizzard, and I get ready in the snowstorm and go out for a walk, why do I like it so much? I wander alone, sometimes people are not at home, I stay on the street 😀but still like it, especially blizzards.

Maybe it is because I am Canadian but I am finding the tag of "heavy snowfall" or "blizzard" in log cabins to be completely misleading on youtube... rarely do we see much snow. Instead we get half the video dedicated to watching people cook in cold weather (hardly a blizzard). 30 videos and I am finally starting to get annoyed lol

If you had first built a small campfire in the place designated for the pit, perhaps it would have been easier and faster to dig the pit. At least that's how I would have done it. But it could also be that I'm talking nonsense.

Hello nature lover, I can understand life in the forest very well without the constant hustle and bustle, I miss a place like that here in Germany. But here in Germany there are no more isolated forest areas, everything is intersected with paths, not a 150m forest without the next path. In which country do you live, I mean in which region is your forest house located? Not exactly where, just roughly. Your fan Andrew

All of these photos of how they survived is very impressive. However they fail to tell you that there’s no rest for the weary. You have to make sure that you have enough firewood to hold out long enough during the storm. You have to make sure your roof has no cracks in it. So the roof doesn’t leak. And in the middle of the storm, what if you need to use a bathroom, where do you go? Or do you automatically have a Porto potty somewhere?
