✅ Coal Miners’ Cabins (loved it, and their veggie burger was the best I found) www.coalminerscabins.com/en-US
✅ Cecilia Blomdahl’s channel (if you're looking for videos about life in the north pole, her channel is the jackpot) / ceciliablomdahl
⚠️ Northern Lights Aurora Borealis tour (there's always a chance you might not see them, in which case the tour is just a fire out in the wilderness) en.visitsvalbard.com/activity...
⚠️ Bus tour (good for views of the walleys (lmao). it was honestly nice to do something low-impact after) en.visitsvalbard.com/activity...
⚠️ Global Seed Vault (love the idea and im thankful for Åsmund and the Global Seed Vault for doing an interview, but since you can’t go inside so you’re really just staring at a building)

And he does it again!!! Damon, i have been LIVING for your editing style for a long time, and i love that you are always spicing up your framing, lighting, camera movement and storytelling with something new. Like the intro, the grocery store shopping cart sequence, the transitions, the red and green lighting, the voiceovers - ARE U KIDDING ME??? Sometimes I revisit your videos because they give me such a warm, fuzzy feeling, and it amazes me every time how you can produce such incredible quality, while also being entertaining, comforting, on the go, and also being present and asking interesting questions. I'm sure you've read comments about your show, and how you should be the one producing it on here and oh boi - I am also in full support! The way YOU communicate visually and verbally is what keeps your audience wanting more. We want YOU, we want YOUR words, we want YOUR artistic visual world. I imagine the budget, reach, and the professional crews of big studios perhaps would've given you more freedom financially, but definitely not artistically. Organizing the whole thing might be a pain in the ass, but u said u wanted to work on that booty so - get your fucking ass up and WERK baby!!!

From all accounts this trip to the North Pole is the most challenging and dangerous trip I think you've ever taken. I was actually in fear for your survival. You did a fantastic job of getting as much info as you could as well as share your personal experiences. I thought after the book tour you would take it easy in some tropical destination but you literally did the exact opposite. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you do surprising things. I hope you've thawed out and you're safe back in Paris sitting at a cozy cafe sneering at the tourists.

OMG I was there last October and it is just so magical 🥺✨ had the urge to go there after seeing some videos from Cecilia, what a coincidence you ran into her! Next time you should definitely go to Tromsø for the Nothern Lights, I went in the "in-between" saison too but was very lucky and saw them on my last night - if you think almost dying on a snowmobile during a snowstorm, seeing the Nothern Lights is truly life-changing for some reasons I can't explain
@Tidde

Swede here, Tromsö is actually in the arctic circle (northern Norway, northern Sweden and northern Finland are all in it). And the curtains thing, I think it's the opposite, we wanna make sure we get all of the sun (like in the morning), and just let them be. If it's dark you don't really need to block out the sun to sleep. But everyone is different.

Loved the 'Damonisation' of a Svalbard travel vlog, so refreshing and superbly entertaining. Coming to your nature vs city question, I think I like a bit of both. Being out alone in nature makes me appreciate simpler things in life like listening to the birds or water running down rivers, and being in busy cities makes me appreciate the culture, the food, imagining life as another person. I do tend to start missing the other option if I'm doing one kind of travelling for too long.

This was such a masterpiece to watch!! Totally behind the nature vs human made theory - i’m more of a city girl and I spent a while in Washington state which is definitely more nature people. it taught me to appreciate nature way more and now I crave trees more than before but ultimately i’ve found my best friends and most fun in city-like places. It’s nice to push yourself to appreciate the other side though.

Love this! Going to the Artic Circle has been a recent trend with YT vloggers, so it was great to see your very different take. Was interesting to learn of the seed bank. Would have loved to seen the archive of seeds but understand the fragility of exposure. In regards to travel, we are 50/50. We adore city life. Understanding how the city moves, creates, works, dances, eats, dresses - shows us so much of the destination’s culture and evolution. On the other side of the coin, we adore exploring the outdoors of our chosen destination with an emphasis on the indigenous way of life. Nothing makes you feel more connected to the spirit of a place like being outside away from the light and sounds of the city. I can’t imagine travel without having both aspects explored in the same trip.

i had the same snowmobiling weather this january in finland 😅 but we had a guide in the front and one in the back so nobody had any near death experiences. and no risk of polar bears in lapland, i think you'll find the people warmer there too because they survive off the tourism.

Okay, so I'm from Finland and this is only speculation, but maybe the prices are higher because workers here aren't reliant on tips to get by. Paying everyone a liveable wage and a tax system means higher prices. Also general income in Norway is quite high I think, so the prices reflect the wealth. The blinds thing I think is just a quirk. There's no reasoning behind it. I keep my blinds often all the time because I like looking out of my window haha
