Jeff is good at being impartial, but I think his emotion came out here. Bruce didn’t even get the chance to play for immunity. Jeff knows what the casting process is like so to see Bruce get pulled so early into the game having gone through the entire casting process is so heartbreaking.

This is probably the most I’ve actually been sad at an exit. I felt so bad for him, mainly because I knew it was going to be him going down in that challenge based off the previews and promos, but watching the episode live and seeing the slow mod of his grabbing his head when he hit it was so heartbreaking. Even in this video we’re he gets emotional was so devastating…. I’m so glad he gets another chance to play

I totally forgot about Bruce in season 12! At least he got to serve on the jury and made it far in the game

I really see Jeff’s soft side coming out he truly loves these competitors and was so concerned about his safety and health it’s really heartwarming to see how much he truly cares even in such a sad situation he barely got to play at all he was pushing himself too hard and it’s good to see Jeff is so concerned and there for him while still remaining impartial

coming back here knowing that bruce is absolutely gonna play again in survivor 45 makes this hit different. it's a shame that pat, kourtney, and jackson didn't get this same chance.

Bruce is expected to return to survivor later this decade, but before he can return to the program a review of the program’s concussion protocols will need to be undertaken. Thanks to the hit to the head that happened in the reward challenge he is at risk of developing a condition that is related to CTE. Update: Bruce will be returning for season 45. He is the only returnee this season. Season 45 was originally set to be comprised of 18 new contestants but one of those contestants was cut from the cast before filming began to accommodate him.

It’s not *that* serious Lmao, get over yourself. Concussions happen all the time. The real mistake was developing a challenge where this was almost garunteed to happen, poor design.

@@Sonicfan10193 You sound so dumb, concussions are a serious problem. It has hindered many pro ball players into Kindergartners, killing their entire family or committing suicide. Don't make light of this subject. IT'S A SERIOUS THING!!!

Bruce, Patrick from DvG and Kourtney from One World deserve to return. Devastating all 3 of them were medevac'd within the first 3 days. Especially Bruce who didn't even last a full day.

He had a lot of potential. A shame he had to go out this way :( Edit: He is actually returning to the game for another shot :O Not this season obviously, but sometime later this decade. Exciting! I do feel they missed a great opportunity to bring back Kourtney and Pat so it could be like Survivor Philippines where the medical evactued could play again, except this time it's the people who was evacuated and the first ones out, but I have to remind myself that this is a new era of Survivor and (please correct me if I'm wrong I probably am) they aren't inviting back anymore old contestants. Sigh...

@@SigmaRho2922 it’s not completely out of the question that they bring back other medically evacuated players along with Bruce. I’d say Pat and Jackson have the most logical chance to return since they never got to play the game either. Other feasible options include: Kourtney, James, Erik, Caleb and Bi.

I initially had an idea for a Kourtney and Pat season like Redemption Island/South Pacific/Phillipines because of how interesting the concept could be. Technically this is their second chance, but they were barely in the first season. Do you give them a real chance to play, or do you get rid of them the first chance you get? Potentially they could add Bruce to this list, but I fear he would cut Kourtney out, which is weird, but so far only one woman has been a returnee for the one-per-tribe style of season. It would be so great to have her as the second.

Every time there’s a Medical evacuation, I find myself asking… How would they handle it if a player actually died either during a challenge, or after being medically evacuated? would it even be acknowledged and/or shown? Or would CBS try to cover it up? would the game/season continue? Or would that be the end of “Survivor”?

This was hard to watch. If Bruce comes back for a second chance, that’d be great for him to have an actual chance to finish what he started. Same with Pat from David vs Goliath.

As someone who has had a concussion, the symptoms he was exhibiting, even during the period at camp where he seemed fine, looked like a concussion to me. Even when he was talking and laughing, there were periods where I noticed him staring at seemingly nothing and I was very concerned.

yes it was an immediate concussion and they were very worried about a brain bleed and did not take it lightly he was observed over night and ruled out a brain bleed and is doing amazing! he is returning for another season❤️
