Anyone else getting Gabon vibes from the players this season? Literally the entire yellow team is insane and they already erupted into chaos the first episode. Hannah - was a disappointing first boot and needed her vape so badly she quit day 3. 💀 Sabiyah and Kaleb - are my favorites on the tribe and clearly are carrying their team in the challenges, they are a hilarious duo and their personalities are just so fun to see! (also the alien conspiracy moment made me die laughing) Emily - uhmmmm first possible major villain we have had in a while? Girl is crazy but you can't lie she is entertaining so I wanna see how far she goes. Brandon - dude is literally a discord moderator playing survivor, he makes challenges interesting but I am genuinely curious how long he will be able to survive. 😵 Sean - no clue to be honest let's see how well he shapes up as the season goes on. Yeah the yellow team has zero chance of winning a challenge let's just say that, very mixed feelings on this premier.

My favorite thing this season is that idols require hints and work instead of looking in likely tree branches and keying on how closely the cameras are following you.

The tribal council set for this season is OUTSTANDING.

I think my biggest problem with the quit is she got a decent edit. Like it was full of "I love you" and Jeff was nice and even gave her the "your tribe has spoken". Brandon and emily are getting absolutely wrecked in the edit, but Hannah is being portrayed as a self aware, loving, and good person

I feel like people have been asking for a "real villain" in the new era for so long - and now we have Emily they're just hating her for the sake of hating her. Let me have a villain who makes it to F3 but doesn't win because of them being a villain. Give me the drama.

I know Emily is a villain that people have wanted, but I really don’t like the kind of villain that she is. I don’t like her “glass half empty” personality. I can’t say I love to hate her like a few other villains in the past.

Not going to lie, the moment I saw the mud and the barricade to crawl under I wondered if Bruce had vietnam flashbacks from last season.

Lulu is a hot mess of a tribe but it is hilarious. Katurah is my winner pick right now which probably means she becomes a threat that gets voted out mid-merge to end game. I don't think the winner will be included in the mat chat this season because people caught on. Although if one of those three are the winner we are in for an interesting season.

I’m feeling some brains tribe 2.0 vibes from Lulu. They are such a mess and I’m living for it (as long as kaleb makes it out alive)

Some thoughts: -We got a lot of what we were asking for in terms of less advantages and more camp life… BUT what is lacking is the cast. -the girl alliance on the blue tribe (Kellie, Katurah, and Kendra) have icon potential. Kellie is my winner pick. -guessing that blue will dominate the pre-season challenges and lulu will consistently fail. I predict a winner will come from the blue tribe, similar vibes to 41 -I don’t hate Emily as much as so many people seem to do on twitter. I think she’s good entertainment even if she’s a bad player. I also think calling her racist is a bit of a stretch… she didn’t necessarily need to public ally call out Bruce in the beginning but was she wrong at the end of the day ???? Also, while I’m rooting for Kaleb and Sabiyah, we see people trying to break up early pairs all the time in Survivor.

For winner picks right now: Katurah, Austin, Dee, Kelli I love Kaleb and Sabiyah, but I don't think anyone on Yellow wins.

I don't like Emily much, but she's my current winner pick after this episode. I feel like the edit is giving me almost Gabler edit vibes but Chaos Kass edition. Jeff also said Emily is one of his favourites in an article I've read, which makes me think she at the very least lasts a while to become a favourite. That puzzle was all wrong for Survivor. As you mentioned, we never even got a good look at it. It was more of a "brain teaser" type thing, where you can stare at it for hours, and then suddenly you figure out the "trick" of it. It should have been a puzzle they could make progress on, so that it's a race against the clock (and the other team). Instead everyone basically stood there scratching their heads until time ran out.

I was so hyped up for this season and am just disappointed. The dialogue between contestants has me cringing. The constant crying and lack of any prep or physical ability. I miss the old survivor where the average age wasn’t so young.

I'm glad Hannah quit so Emily and Brandon could stay. Brandon is so sweet I want him to do better in the game. I love Emily she's so much like Cass and will bring the drama. Hope he is a little more careful while looking for idols so he doesn't get voted out too early.

I really didn't respect her quit, but don't go thinking therapists have their own problems figured out. She WAS right about one thing, though: her leaving meant that someone who wanted to stay wouldn't get voted out. Come on, though, casting. Step it up. I’ve watched almost every season more than once and even I wouldn’t apply. I know I have too many problems that would make me unsuited for Survivor. I'm stunned by how many people are so openly "hating" Emily. My goodness, people. She's not being blatantly rude. She's being assertive and seems comfortable being assertive. While she indeed lacks some tact in the moment, she has a decent understanding of the social dynamics in her tribe. She had some bad reads that she stuck to her guns on but she also has some really good reads (she knows she's aggressive, she knows some people are put off by it, she knows she was on the block to go home and she acted accordingly to fight to stay in the game). Emily might not be your favourite castaway but to outright say you hate her is wild.

They made it a point to focus on emilys strat in the marooning challenge for unspooling as it was evidently more succcessful which is interesting I think they should make sweat v savvy a prisoners dilemma Ie. Both share then they each get supplies but if 1 steals and 1 shares the share loses and steal either gets extra supplies or an advantage and if they steal then neither tribe gets supplies

100% with Mary being annoyed at the casting more than anything. I get it, you try to cast different personalities because that's what makes the game, but I doubt no one saw Hannah was at risk of quitting early. Lulu tribe consists of: sheepishly weak superfan, someone who just didn't want to be there enough, an excessively abrasive/negative person and conspiracy theorists? I just want them all gone. As a side note, Kass was MUCH more socially aware and only defaulted to her "Chaos" as a last resort (and then she decided to stay in charater when she was brought back). Kass was a critical, down to earth, leaning towards pessimism realist, but she knew how to contribute and try to work with others whilst Emily seems like she can't stay a minute without pissing someone. The show makes it seem like she really needs some therapy to work out that negativity because that can't be healthy...

Wasn't Osten (from Pearl Islands) also verbally voted out as a quit in essentially the same way as Hannah? Survivor Winners who came from what I'd consider disaster tribes: JT, Natalie White, Denise, Nick, Chris Underwood. (There are also a couple of people who started on disaster tribes but swapped out).

It's unfortunate Hannah was allowed to get voted out. First she should not have been given that since she quit, and second cause if she didnt Emily was probably gone and she is incredibly annoying. Would've loved to see her gone first.

Bruce gives me Russell from Phillipines vibes! 😂 He doesn’t want to be perceived as the leader but he literally cannot help himself. I’m afraid it will become his downfall. He’d be better off if he stopped trying to control how people are perceiving him and just owned up to his naturally leader-like personality and tendencies.

I am enjoying the show, but man that ending. Jeff should've been harder on her. It would've made the moment way better if Jeff expressed what we were all feeling/thinking. Instead the entire episode now feels tainted by that ending

This episode was not what I expected. I thought I will love or hate every episode of this season and this episode was just...fine? It was going good, Lulu was fun to watch but no one really stood out to me and this format has become boring. 44 and especially 42 have already been way, way better ngl. The quit really frustrated me, a spot seemed wasted and Brandon's struggling was really sad, but I don't feel he was the right casting choice...this cast just is so........so.....so.........ehhhhhhhhh Which sucks cuz every other season there are soo many people who stand out in the premiere, I'd give this premiere a 7. It is not bad...but it's kinda a weak start.

Why didn't Brandon take his medication. Survivor has always allowed people to take their prescriptions unless they are pain killers or will effect your mood.

The 3 mat chatters had a terrible first episode, but until they're gone I have to keep them as my top three. After that I guess Kellie, Sabiyah and Kaleb are next.
