Күн бұрынGalway farmer Eoin Goldrick was agitating slurry when he was hit by toxic fumes. He was lucky to escape alive. Sadly, slurry gas is responsible for many tragedies on Irish farms.
In this video Eoin describes how his slurry accident happened and the steps he now takes to protect himself from the dangers of slurry.

have you heard of the tmac safe air fan that is fitted to the agitator it disperses toxic gas at source

I had no idea what slurry gas is until now. Why do people drown in them? Do they accidentally fall in or do they get knocked out with the gas and fall in? How could the process be made safer? Audible alarm? Masks? Pipes to ditch fumes somewhede else? Burn fumes?

Well I can't understand what he's saying but I wanted to know why they can't wear gas masks like from WWII ? Seems the most sensible way to go. Move the cows and don the masks and everythings all good no?

You need a mask specifically for hydrogen sulfide. I don’t know why they just don’t buy some anyways, some farmers have special agitators with sensors and fans to stay safe around the gas so they aren’t needed.

Anno im a year late but im sure theres a bit of ptsd and possibly ur right a bit of damage maybe from hittin the ground or the gas
