This was the song played at my father's funeral. He died on February 09, 2020, because of gastric cancer. This was his favorite song and he really liked singing this on karaoke. This song plays in my mind every time I miss him. May he rest in peace. Love you, Dad.

I genuinely think that 80s were the golden decade of human kind, because there was this perfect balance between arts, technology, humanity, freedom and all the other good things, but now technology has taken over most of those beautiful things!

I can't believe this man died in 2014 and I did not hear of his passing in the news. I guess it was not a big deal for many people, but this band is part of our memories. I was a teen in the 80s and this band like the rest of the 80s bands holds a special place in my heart. I just wished this man had been honored in a different way at the time of his passing. The love of my life and I divorced in 2007. I moved to North Carolina, she stayed in California. I returned to California in 2010, after a year in New York. I couldn't shake her, and was able to express that every weekend, when she would get the kids. In 2016, after 9 years apart, we made a commitment to never let the small things tears us apart again and are now living this song. I think this song is what we all hope for....to no longer have to search for the love of our lives. Dude had an amazing voice, and I didnt realize he passed. I grew up in the 80's and it really hits home all the people that are no longer here. What a loss to those who loved his music. A man who had many more years left, died, sadly of a hemorrhagic stroke, as the result of methamphetamine intoxication. It's just never worth it............

This was the first song my wife and I danced to at our wedding reception. I searched for external gratification all my life up until I met her. When I did, the search was truly over. I had met my soul mate. This seemed the ideal song to express that. I still remember it like it was yesterday, and it still brings a tear of joy to my eyes. That was truly my greatest day. This sing brings it all back.

I am Jimi's age so we grew up going through the 60's as teens, having lived through the 60',70' and 80's music I saw it all. He was a truly gifted artist and singer. This song says it all, met my wife in the 80's and we are still together. I am a guitarist but wish I had his voice.

This song is a part of my life. I grew up in the inner city listening to mostly funk and R&B. Then in the eighties I met a girl who loved me, but I didn't love her back the same at first. As time went by looking for love in all the wrong places we parted ways. Then in 2015 I talked to an old friend of mine and he asked me if I knew she had passed away. I was instantly in uncontrollable tears because I realized that since our relationship no other woman had loved me like she did, the little things she would do to make me happy. I realized how much I had taken her for granted. I am still heartbroken at the fact that I never really got to tell her how much she meant to me, and to thank her for loving me like no other woman has.The search was over, she was right before my eyes. Problem was, I just didn't know it at that time. Thanks Survivor for making this beautiful song that this young man from the hood could relate to, it's almost as if the song was written for me.
