That happened to me once at Walmart. I came in after a dialysis treatment exhausted, needed a electric cart but they had none. I shopped went through the self checkout because none of the regular lanes were opened. Scanned all my stuff and tried to leave. They stopped me asked for a receipt and I gladly gave it. They said come with us, I followed them and they unloaded every bag to make sure I got everything. Finally they said you paid for everything in the bags but you didn't ring up the paper towels on the bottom of the cart. I swear I took the scanner and scanned them but somehow I must not have scanned it right. So I say we'll I will definitely pay for them it was an accident and they were like just give us a minute. Meanwhile I had my 9 year old daughter with me and my husband went to get the car ready. They come back in and ask me if this is a habit. If I do this every time I shop. I said never in 36 years of my life have I ever intentionally not scanned something. Then they said is there someone else who can come get your daughter, I said my husband is in the parking lot waiting for us. So they go and get him. Then a knock on the door and it was the police. They took me to the holding cell in handcuffs, took pictures, fingerprints the whole nine yards. I had to go to court twice pay over 300.00 in fines and worst of all my 9 yr old daughter with chronic anxiety disorder had to see me handcuffed and taken to jail over a 10.00 pack of paper towels. It was so embarrassing. I will never go to that Walmart ever again . And if they knew me I am totally the kind of person who would have looked at the receipt after and if I noticed I didn't pay for it I would have taken it back in and paid for it. But they obviously didn't care . They were out to get someone no matter what it was. And I now have a misdemeanor for shoplifting under 50.00 on my permanent record. SMH!!!!

That's exactly why I hate shopping at Walmart because of the people that works there are rude and disrespectful. Only time you are supposed to show them a receipt is when u have a big purchase item or something that's not in a bag. I shop at target Now because I got tired of being profiled. I don't get treated like that at Target! I don't steal or have to steal because I work every damn day for what I want or need. I completely understand how u felt in that moment.

I used to do security at Walmart’s. They had us check the receipts. I’m a very pleasant person and usually engage with people. If someone says, no. I’m not showing you my receipt, we take a quick glance at their cart, and thank them for shopping at Walmart. They tell us to let them go. Don’t create a scene. It’s not worth the trouble. They said that they wanted us mainly on our patrols looking for people trying to walk out with TV’s out of the gardening section or out side doors customers are not supposed to use. The Walmart’s I worked at said they have insurance that covers the losses they experience. So we were to do our best and be diligent. I’m so sorry you had that experience. That’s embarrassing and creates a situation that just can get out of control. # 1

I worked at Walmart and you're right. Showing a receipt is NOT required. He needs to be terminated because he targeted tf outta you. The Walmart we used to live by followed my disabled mom around thinking she was shoplifting and followed her all the way to the cashier and stood there with their arms crossed while she paid and then they followed me and my husband because we took out our own formula and made a bottle for our baby but because we had more formula in the basket they thought we were stealing the formula we already had 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ I dislike Walmart very much!! Yeah- the Walmart near me in Virginia always has cop cars parked on the sidewalk. They always stop you to look at the receipt and they put security doors on both sides, if you go out the wrong way they wont let you out. It’s crazy. I’ve been there where when there was a burglary in progress.

Wow! So crazy! A good example of customer service is "chic fil a" why is there customer service amazing & top notch is because of consistency! Hiccups do happen but when everyone is on the same page things run better. I could imagine how you felt, my anxiety would have been through the roof. Not a receipt problem but I was at Walmart the other day, and I needed assistance at the locked perfume/cologne section. The lady was right behind me stocking,I pressed the call button and she simply walked away. Well I waited 10 minutes,and even pressed the button multiple times later. My friend had to ask an employee in the self checkout area to help. I have never seen a Walmart so disorganized,better yet on a Sunday morning!

I've been watching your videos for a little over 6 months now. I understand and gree with you on how bad the customer service is at Walmart. I use to work in the deli there and got treated like dirt. My boss would always pull us in the back jist to scream at us and customers would hear the whole thing and complain about it to our store manager. So after I got terminated due to their point system I try to avoid going there as much as I possibly can.
