On March 12, 2008, comedian and actress Susie Essman spoke about her longtime collaboration with Larry David on "Curb Your Enthusiasm." She discusses the unique viewpoint of the show and how improvisation is at its core. Interview conducted by director Michael Kantor for the six-hour PBS comedy series, "Make 'Em Laugh: The Funny Business of America" (2009).

What I love is that music they play whenever Susie shows up, especially when she's mad. The Spanish torreador music. I think that is so funny, the Susie Green theme.

I'm an English fella,love British comedy more than any other,have many comedy heros,but,Mr Larry David is my all time favourite creator, actor,curb is my all time favourite show,I watch every series at least once a year and laugh like an uncontrollable child every time,thank you Larry,thank you susie,thank you Jeff,ps,the final episode was tip top,in fact it was pretty pretty pretty good

It’s amazing how a beautiful person in mind, spirit and body can become an ugly person in mind, spirit and body through amazing acting. Acting without a script in a thing like Curb takes enormous talent, hard work and experience

It's all funny from the first season up to now. The relationship between Susie & Larry is just so funny; no matter how abusive they get, it's always forgotten in a moment. Brilliant.

What's amazing is when you see her true self and realize how different from Curb's Susie she is in real life, suddenly you find a really pretty, charming, cute woman. She's 52 in this clip, which is insane to me.

I'm so glad to have come across this. Lately KZfaq has been offering me collections of Curb scenes, which I enjoy completely. In recent days, I thought that if I ran into Susie Essman, I'd think she's Susie Green. I KNEW she must be a normal person whose day job is comic/actor, but I couldn't picture it. It was nice to see this at just the time the question occurred to me.

I love that Larry gets away with every political incorrectness. Any incorrectness. Borrowing shoes from the Holocaust museum. Who gets away with that? Or inviting Holocaust survivors for dinner and some idiot from the show Survivor thinks he's the hero. It's so brilliant. All the actors and guest actors were phenomenal. They gave us so much joy.

The crazy thing about Curb is on Seinfeld apparently Larry David would stop a scene if they said a syllable wrong in the script. And the next thing Larry does is a whole show where he didn’t write a word.
