I have all the street bikes set up by a suspension pro and my goodness it makes such a difference on the street and track. I don't have the words to describe how great it is to take the time to do this. I took a 15 year break from dirtbikes and just got back into it last year. First full size four stroke after years of smokers. I can't figure what the heck goes wrong sometimes but I now know I should get my dirtbike sorted out too! I set the sag and that's it.

Good tips on the setup, but this race format is such a good idea for practice. I'm so much faster than any of my riding buddies, they don't even like to be on the track at the same time 😞 It really sucks! This is a great idea to challenge us all and make the weekend a whole lot more interesting!

Sad to say I am not sure I have ever ridden a bike that was properly set up for me. I do my best, and all this KZfaq instruction is fantastic, but one never knows. Since I started when bikes had 4-6 inches of travel in the 1970s, and bikes now have 12 inches with clickers, it’s always better than the old days, but I wonder if I am using it all correctly.

I actually just paid close attention to what I was feeling (dropping hard into holes, bouncing, etc.) and figured out which does what. Have pretty tight settings now. Also, improved riding position…figured maybe I was out of place and was. Adjusted bars, got farther back, was adjusting for proper weighting finally. Thanks for your input.

Amazing, what you've been doing on the social media...😂😂😂 keep going, you're a natural with the camera...🤟. I have a question...why not... on the same time as well... yourself doing a R3 to pull more young teens to smash the track days, as well, though.. and encouraging the speed freaks to do it on the right place? As a legend already, 6 times wsbk campion... you can be the magnate to bring those boys and girls perhaps to do your own trackdays school? You a warrior... keep fighting, because really soon, you will be fighting for wins with 54, 1, 22 and 11.

A great video, shot well as always. The problem is, you can get 10 different tuners out to do the same thing and you'll get 10 different 'best advice' answers to what you need! This is why I just ride my bikes with the stock suspension, set that up and make it work. I'd rather do that than spend money 3 or 4 times like I've seen riding buddies do.

Correct Sag is the foundation of a proper handling bike. Applies to all genres of riding. Bar bend, bar height & position etc are an after thought. There's more to Sag than subtracting travel difference between a weighted & unweighted bike. It takes a minimum of 2 people to do it correctly.

and if desiring the utmost performance, even that is a setting that should be tried at several levels and optimized for a real comparison. But for most people, getting that into an acceptable range, then tuning the rest should be more than fine.

Raising or lowering the forks slightly adjusts it, and so does setting the sag, but doesn’t really change it too much.
@user-tf1oo9rj6u
@user-tf1oo9rj6u 8 ай бұрын
@@mossoconnor4417 I disagree. *10mm fork height is usually the difference of being on one extreme: too high in the front (light and poppy, front won't stay down well) vs overshooting to way too low and sunk in (squirrely and erratic, prone to diving in).* You can shift your weight, but _that is a compromise_ for a misbehaving bike. That compromise means you will have to shift more and faster, to overcome it's being setup wrong. And you _can't_ weight it anytime your weight is light such as in the air or dropping from a bump. Anytime that occurs, the bike will do exactly what it was setup to do. For the rear on say a yz250, typically you are looking at a very sensitive 102mm rider sag with the entire adjustments falling within +/- 2mm. A moderate noob rider can easily feel the difference with light track riding, even if they don't know what you changed to do that.

Springs will be far and above the biggest difference you can make for your suspension. Springs 1st, then try tuning your suspension and see if it needs further mechanical improvements (including things as simple as thicker/thinner oil, most likely thicker).

Hello u have most information about any off road bike I'm little disappointed my africa twin 1100 l cos safety system make me injury ABS and stability control can't make safety it is mostly dangerous system on the world on motorbike on my opinion... Right on sports bike right different neck angle and traction but motocross and enduro bikes is different style rides.....

Small note, for Anything that involves two wheels geometry adjustment is Critical for one's height, body proportions, comfort, and use. Sag and other critical suspension hacks to further optimize the bike are also important but, following Logic, what the gent said and demonstrated works. Inexperienced 'experts' need to remember there are people Superior to them in knowledge and experience and that they need to mute their Opinions which are generally wrong. Listen, learn, and maybe you'll realize a better-riding bike and your riding will be better and more confident. [And be a wiser person for shutting one's pie-hole and using one's ears and brain instead...]

Bloody hell, 😂😂😂😂, here is what every average rider should do on a MX / quality Enduro bike. Run your Compression dampening at softest settings, Rebound mid to 3/4 settings, front and back, it will suit just about all conditions, Bush/single track/grass track /light MX, giving you great grip, and won’t bash you up, If ya want to start hitting bigger hits wind up the Comp bit by bit till it doesn’t bottom as much, but the more you wind that Comp up, be prepared for the bike to not handle as well in the shitty stuck anymore. You can’t have everything, it’s either make it handle like a Mercedes or make it handle like a touring car. Adam’s track it the type of track that is suited to firmly set suspension, it’s not narly is easy with h big hits,most of us are riding unforgiving rubbish without the big hits so ya need the plush feel and grip to ride for hrs and hrs, not 5 minute moto,s .
