Interesting idea, would be made better if we can implement a bounding box for the carrier so it knows if no one is around the timer goes up but if the carrier is next to it then its not suspicious, what do we think?

Let me tell u actual and practicke problems in abandoned luggage. 1. Its generally installed on public places which is very crowded. Now because of this reason maximum distance threshold of nearness to human never meets. Abandoned baggage will always remain close and nearby to some or the other human. This wont generate alert at all, most of the time. 2. Generally in these kind of public places cameras are placed at height and number of cameras are in 100s. We cant do the detection in HD stream otherwise it will dimand very high configuration servers. If we do the detections in lower resolution streams, the size of luggage becomes very very small making it very difficult to detect 3. Another problem is that abondoned luggage doesn’t mean only these kind of suitcases which u have in the video. It mean laptop bags, travel bags, duffel bags as well. These bags are of different different shapes and sizes. Its becomes very difficult to train all kinds of luggage and with different different angles. Also the camera angles and environment is different for each location making it very difficult to commercially distribute same product and model to all the customers
