Sussex ATV Rally: Amazing Trails, Waterfalls, & Stopped by Trail Cops !

SO I totally forgot about this trip I did back in August 2018 (I think) I met up with Adam and a few of his buddies and we went to the Sussex Vally ATV Club "Presidents Day" Rally.
Starting Point was Adairs Wilderness Lodge which is about an hour or so from Moncton, NB. Adairs offers ATV'er, Sledders or just travellers a Place to stay, Fuel for your machines, a great little restaurant and Endless trails.
I was a little under the weather but still went for the ride, the trails were amazing as always, lots of ATV's and SXS, we ran into DNR (Department of natural resources) who were doing a stop check with Registration, Insurance, Trail Pass. (They were really nice guys). Then we went back to Adairs for a Poker hand and door prize draw. It was a really good rally and I recommend it to anyone. I even met a guy from PEI who watches my videos and came to Sussex b/c of it, I hooked him up with a sticker.

Growing up in this area, we called the waterfalls Quiddy Falls. We would jump from the top and the water was always cold. Use to be a local secret. We would spend a bunch of the day there, then beat our rigs down the trail and camp out at Martin Head. It was a great place. I’m glad the beauty is shared with all.

I believe it’s the same water falls. It seems to be more recognized by Wallace Falls now. Have you been into Walton Glen Gorge Falls? (The eye of the needle) as we I would have called it. Bush waking with the Land-cruiser we stumbled upon it.

Man I've tied twice to get to the eye of the needle and haven't been able too, I think Once I found the river but just didn't follow it far enough to get to the big gorge. I Do want to do that though

I agree ! but I can see why some people want a SXS, I'm now thinking of getting one b/c I have a kid now, another one on the way, so I want to take them with me.

Hey ! thanks man, we love our bikes out east, it's big tourism in NB too. This was a decent turn out for sure ! But the Rally back home in Nova Scotia, down in Lake Charlotte usually brings 300-400 ATV/SXS. it's not without its challenges though, especially in NS, hard for the stone age government to see the economic benefit of ATV's and Snowmobiles to smaller communities...

Great video as always. I always enjoy stopping and checking out any falls or other sights along the way and those were real nice. Sometimes the club runs can have a lot of machines and can get backed up but you seemed to be able to keep up a good pace. Great way for them to raise some money to keep those trails and bridges in good condition. Also, I got your sticker so much appreciated. Already on the bike.

Yeah man, thats my favourite thing to do is check out my surroundings, sometimes ppl get too worried about the destination Or getting there as fast as possible and they miss a lot of stuff. Hey buddy ! Yeah man i'm in the IBEW, but trust me, we have guys that make more than me and are in debt haha gotta be smart with your money, nothing on credit, Cash for everything or don't buy it. Also my Nanny always said "Count you pennies and the Dollars take care of themselves" so thats what I do haha I paid my student debt off as quick as I could, I've had the same truck for 9 years (still going strong) old cell phone, no cable TV (just internet), pack my lunches or bring food to cook on my little bbq, don't smoke, don't drink too much (lol).... it all adds up. thanks for watching and leaving me a comment !

Hey Bob ! thanks so much !! We'll ATV park is better than not riding at all, You could always travel to another State and ride some trails. I read an article once about how Texas doesn't have much public land b/c the farmers own it all, that must be rough, we have so much public land, and if the trail runs through someone property they are usually pretty cool and allow it, unless the ATV's or Sleds start to drive where they aren't allowed. thanks for commenting and Subbing, I appreciate it !

Good thing there wasn't a spelling test for your Red Seal final exam buddy - "dis"cription - LOL I'm with you man, I still prefer riding the quad. I like the feeling of the handle bars and the bike feel. I have a steering wheel in my truck, don't need one on my ATV too - lol How weird was that to pass a guy you work with? Like what are the odds? Last night on TV I saw the world's longest covered bridge (also in your neck of the woods somewhere) and now I've seen the worlds smallest covered bridge at 16:00 - That was cool! Ya man, that Sussex area is BEAUTIFUL! The waterfall area was amazing! I've seen lots of those in BC & each one is as beautiful as the next! Awesome video bud! You need to get your gal a bike and a set of comms so she can go with you.

Oh man I even went back over the video to look for spelling mistakes !! haha Oh well links are in the DEScription lol Yeah maybe someday i'll get a SXS when I have kids and stuff, but hopefully will be able to keep my ATV too. Yeah that was my buddy Denis, he was going to the start point to register for the Rally, haha We have so many covered bridges its crazy haha I can't remember where the longest one is at but I know its in NB somewhere, I see them all the time when i'm driving in the country. @@Maritimer Some groups you can join on fb for my area are Rusagonis ATV Club (Club#45), York County West ATV Club (Club #46)(Can access these trails from the Rusagonis Trails), Gage ATV Club (Club#42), Nashwaak Valley ATV Club #47 (I've never been on these trails but I hear they're great). There's a few events coming up in the next few weeks that should be fun!

About your trail pass, get yourself a piece of plexiglass and put your pass on it and you can attatch it any where you want.

Awesome ride man, I'd like to take the wife out around that area sometime looks like some great scenery! I thought when you licensed your bike every year here in NB a percentage of that went towards trail maintenance so legally you didn't need a trail pass however the trail pass money goes towards helping your local club. I've been stopped by DNR a few times and seems like all they want to see is registration and insurance card and the license plate is on the wheeler.

Hey !! you should get out there for sure, it's a beautiful area ! I love riding there. MAN I know, I always question where that money goes, they charge us a bit during registration to go towards trails... I believe that still goes on to... I do it online so I never see the break down. Oh the DNR aren't bad guys, if you treat them with respect, have all the proper paperwork, there's nothing they can do to ya,

Yeah that's a good run a couple those Trails I've never been on every time I'm there I'm just on the dirt roads. Those Falls you were at I'm pretty sure they're called quiddy Falls. I might be mistaken though I've been there a couple times and that's what I was always told they were called.

Have to agree I had a ATV, sold it, and got a side by side. It was cool till you had to maneuver through tight spots. I got so tired of it I sold it and went back to a ATV. They are comfortable rigs and a lot fun to play in but just wasn’t for me.

I see no dirt bikers. Do they let offroad bikes ride on these trails? If I visit it’ll definitely be on a bike for sure and riding along with quadders is definitely fun.

Hey ! thanks so much ! I appreciate it ! Yeah I know... a lot of people have issues with the cops being there, but they just try and keep people from getting too wasted on their machines (which happens a lot !) and check trail passes, not really a big deal. I'd say a good 85% are drinking on these rallies, and the cops are usually cool unless you are totally wasted.

I honestly don't see why ATVs and SXSs need insurance. I can understand registration, but yeah, we totally need to be mandated to give more money to multi-billion dollar corporations. They really need it! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hey Steve ! Yeah man I hear ya, and we pay WAY too much for insurance. but if two machine sget in an accident on the trail, insurance pays for it, or if one burns up. so I see both sides of the coin I guess.

insurance? insurance for what? i can see registration because that money theoretically goes in to the trails but what's the drivers license for? is there a lot of parallel parking and traffic lights and fire trucks out there? God damn! I heard there are police but i can not believe they can stop everybody like a Gestapo DUI check station. This video was straight up shocking, i can't believe my eyes.... Does Fish and game show up for condom inspection when you're trying to have a romantic afternoon in the sticker bushes with your wife?

Hey man, Insurance is incase you have an accident with another ATV, or while crossing roads, riding along the shoulder of some roads and even riding on main paved roads (in some towns) We also have access to forrest roads owned by Irving, and they require it as well. it's a small price to pay really..... Wouldn't you pay a few hundred bucks a year in insurance to ride on basically unlimited trails?
