I love how he always plays unique, unfamiliar instruments and projects himself as something mysterious like an alien from another planet with a far more advanced civilization.

He is the Japanese cousin of David Bowie (who, I'm certain, was an alien)!

Well he's Music God so he is far more advanced than the rest of us mortals
@Mr. Moniebu I still kinda miss his early P-Model days style. He sounded so aggressive, always out of breath. As he grew older, his style became much "kinder" I guess. Not that I dislike that, though, I very much love his style now.
Susumu has completely transcended the typical structure of music. He builds these incredible difficult rhythms and patterns with complex melodies and it all just goes so well together. His lyrics are so interesting and emotional. His music is just such an enjoyably new and vibrant experience. Such a breathe of fresh air.

I remember him saying something in an interview about how he doesn’t describe himself as any particular genre since he doesn’t want to limit himself or create a notion of what his music is supposed to be, and if you look at all his music, that checks since each album has its own theme and background associated with it, whether it be the otherworldly music in “Technique of Relief” or Burmese alchemy in “Philosopher’s Propeller”
