I used to fish the sloughs between Wannee and Log Landing and caught redbreast (usually on beetle spins), channel cats and occasionally bass on rapala lures. We camped at Log Landing and would have some memorable fish fries back in the late 60's and early 70's. Great hunting up there too. Now that I'm retired I need to make a trip back up from St. Pete to relive some of those great experiences I had as a young man. Thanks for sharing!

Fishing with small poppers works really well in the summer. A small spider imitation will catch big bream if you slightly twitch the legs.

Awesome. Never seen anyone use meal worms, but it looks like is worked. We in the South call them red breast. If you use artificial, try trolling the bank really slow and toss out a popper bug- spiders work well. Use crawfish colored lure with a gold spinners if youre going to try a spinner bar. Worms and crickets are great live baits.

The Suwannee River is a beautiful place. Thank you for the great tips on how to fish it. Were you near Rock Bluff? Your tips seem simple and easy to apply. We've never fished that river so now we'll have to give it a shot. Also, good job to the camera operator. Keep making great videos!

Wonder if bull sharks are in that river?
@CaptainRRExcursionsАй бұрын
i’ve heard stories of one being caught but don’t know how true that is anything is possible though where we were at its over 30 miles to the gulf

There's definitely 110% bull sharks there, no dams & I've heard sometimes cedar key has sharks. Mayve isn't an absolute hot spot like tampa bay, withlacoochee bay, or boca ciega bay, etc but I'm certain they're in there sometimes Edit: also I've heard the suwannee has striped bass. If anyone's ever caught any there, I'd be interested to know general or specific details. But apparently other rivers on the east coast and panhandle have more of them. & also with blue catfish, as interested or more
