@@xflynskywlkr27 Considering the overall package, it is very astonishing to see what they can achieve. 7 or 8 secs slower is pretty much state of the art for the kind of powertrain it uses when compared to F1.

@@geteasy92 no if anything higher framerates make it look slower, if you look at early f1 videos they also feel faster because they were at low FPS, lower than 25 on the onboards

mandisgod it's because there's no optical image stabilization. Gives a better sense of speed

@@Rodrigoxki Yea I really wish F1 stopped using their stabilization. It has always looked unnatural and less intense to me. You get a better sensation of speed and bumps without it.

1:35.972 vs Seb's 2019 pole at 1.27.064. That's really impressive from the SF car considering it's not hybrid and doesn't have as much HP. Awesome, hope we see more videos like this. =)

The man can hustle an Indycar that’s for sure. Palou didn’t waste time adapting to the Indy car Super Formula had to have helped immensely.

@@benjamincombs3403 The reason Palou joined Super Formula was... because SF is the only open-wheel series which still had refuelling at that time. Which suited his goal to go to IndyCar. As a rookie in SF, Palou collected 3 pole positions and 1 win. He should have won more races. Sometimes technical issues hindered him from the chance of victory especially on the last 2019 race. I have watched all 2019 races. Remember when you're rookie in SF or IndyCar, you also have to face competitor which are already 10 years or more in that series. And he learned and adapt pretty well.

Is his steering wheel offset a few degrees or is it just me ? Strange, as i've only ever seen an offset angle be used on an oval circuit.

Maybe it's to ease off the hairpin. There isn't much use of an extreme turn to the right, so better use of motion range by using offset, although it may be bit of a stretch of a theory for "just a hairpin".

Even though this was slower than an F1 pole lap, it gave me a much greater sensation of speed because the camera seems to be lower shakes more. Maybe the cameras in F1 are just too good lol

The lap time of that Super Formula car is only a tenth off Michael Schumacher’s pole position time in 2000 at Suzuka . Which he set a “1:35.825” and that’s considering how incredibly dated the 2000 Ferrari was in comparison to the current era or even the cars from the late 2010s

LETS GO RACING The car sounds like it’s dying. The cars today are getting faster and faster and more environmentally friendly and the racing is as good as ever. But damn the sounds suck on most formula cars today.

Yes, Formula spec cars in particular have wooden boards underneath the cars themselves, if the board has worn away too much, that means there is some illegal aerodynamics on the car.

Nice onboard and great drive.Everyone who likes to underestimate and put down Super Formula are either ignorant or F1 fanboys.Despite beeing slower 8 seconds,they're still very serious machines when you consider they use 2 litre turbocharged 4 cylinder engines and have no DRS and no KERS.For the powertrain they use and aero that's not too much downforce focused like in F1,which is why their handling is a bit twitchy,they're still fast to the point it's mindboggling.Learn to appreciate other open wheeler series as well.And by the way,speaking of open wheel racing,F1 cars are only ones that are faster.Let that sink in.

F1 2014 with tiny tyre and in the white mark tyre. Wich mean medium tyre not soft or supersoft.. different with 2016 season wich use soft tyre

Why was his steering wheel not straight when going in a straight line? I doubt sth was broken, so was it maybe adjustes to his preferences, as weird as that might be?

1:12 After that exit he straightens his steering and goes to the left side of the track. Then at 1:17 he turns the wheel ever so slightly to the right and you can see he is driving to the right side to open up the next left turn.

So.. you mean every other open wheel single seater racing cars are a copy of F1? How silly of you... There are many racing series with Formula cars outside F1 like Super Formula, IndyCar, & Formula E. There are also F2, F3, F4, IndyLights, etc acting as feeder series to these top racing series.

they arent much slower, they are almost as fast as F1 cars through the corners. they're just slower on the straights because they have a 2.0L 4cyl engine
