I don't see why F1 is afraid. Only half the grid is currently fighting for a podium anyway, and most of the time, the 5th team is only getting on podium by a stroke of luck. Alpine, Sauber, Williams, Haas, and RB Junior are secure in the knowledge they're already in the club. For years we've seen some teams not even bother with development, because they'd rather focus on next year (cough) HAAS (cough) and then this year we even have a historic team that couldn't front a spare chassis until several races in. They've grown complacent in their predicament, knowing that all they have to do is show up and they'll get their cut at the end of the year. Adding another team provides fear and the impetus to improve. To be the pinnacle of motorsport, you need to be open to all contenders, and the teams that continually lose will relegate themselves out due to lack of funding. The history of F1 is littered with teams rising, falling, and disappearing. Why shouldn't Andretti/Cadillac be given that same opportunity?

The 2028 carrot is BS. If F1 was serious about that they could announce acceptance now with an effective entry date of 2028.

Saudi sovereign investment fund should pull a LIV Golf on F1 and start a rival league. Aston Martin would have to join due to title sponsorship. Liberty Media has already been rumored to be considering selling to the Saudis. Mercedes might move given Toto's hatred of the FIA and his wife's F1 academy lawsuit. You'd probably only need one other big team to make the move for the whole house of cards to collapse. The smaller team would just go where the prize pool was bigger. Existing contracts could just be trashed by under-investing in the current F1 teams. There are more than enough 2nd-tier tracks that would love to join, and even a few 1st tier that have been dropped recently or have contracts expiring soon.

There should be 12 teams on the grid, the charter allows for it and F1 is literally at his highest peak ever. Let them in. Also let Porsche or whomever build a 12th team.

F1 wants American fans and are determined to get them, but they don't want another team or wish to expand. These are the games rich people play and I can't begin to understand their world any more than that. I would like to see an F1 where all ten teams have a shot at winning races at the beginning of each season, not races where 3 teams have a chance and maybe 4 if they race in a hurricane or snow storm. Williams is so bad there must be an underlying reason they are there at all, Alpine are owned by a car manufacturer, or a works team, and they won't create a competitive car for lack of trying. Haas is just a billboard for the Haas company and not trying either. I almost wish F1 could kick teams out but there too many shenanigans already without adding that. I love the racing but what is plain is that F1 is now about the show and glitz. How did a plethora of pop music stars make the racing better in Miami? Let them enter in 2026, BUT NO PRIZE MONEY so not diluting the pot, and use Audi engines. They can then prove their worth, where they're at, and gain working experience ahead of 2028, AND create a desperately need two more seats on the grid asap. With Honda and Audi joining, Renault won't be the only single team supplier, so could give more options. And Audi could develop quicker with engine data from 4 cars.

This is hurting F1 and Liberty image. Even outside of US, Andretti is well known as Team and motorsport legend, FIA has Andretti as a team in other series, but yet, F1 thinks they are the ones who will bring value to Andretti/Cadillac.

How can a channel as big as this be so selective with their reporting? Where's the commentary on the discussions for a new Concorde Agreement which will limit the number of teams to 10 for 2026 to 2030? It's honestly hilarious that an American team backed by a American OEM gets denied by an American media group controlling F1. While a so called American team in Haas is honestly a waste of spot in the paddock and grid as Haas refuses to invest and grow the team into a winner. Hence their just taking a piece of the pie without being competitive at all. The exact thing the FOM claimed Andretti would do. Yet they brought up the money value of F1 teams, ok there's no way a Haas team would be valued higher then a Andretti/Cadillac team. As an American fan of F1 and IndyCar I have to say that this dispute has been pushing me back towards Indycar. I have always preferred road and grad prix racing to ovals, but F1 just feels more and more like the old money of racing, more concerned with protecting their social status than producing great races. Let Andretti in. If they can’t compete then they won’t stay. Or maybe Haas or Williams or another team will fold. Shouldn’t that also be part of the sport?

I mean why not let a couple of new teams with 1 car each. They can compete for a season or two and then the best ones remain the slowest leave, that would be cool.

My questions are: 1) Has anyone among journalists, influencers, content creators or other type of commentators asked Andretti: "Why haven't they bought any of the teams that have been for sale in the last 15 years?" ? 2) Do all the proclaimed fans of this company follow all its activities as they are vocal about them ? For some reason these people are almost invisible in the fanbase of Formula E or Extreme E.
