Can you do a carb clean on the same bike please that would help me out alot🙏
@nicholasniechayev40373 жыл бұрын
I unfortunately did a carb clean before this video. I won't need to do another one anytime soon, but I will record it when I do. I can tell you that you need to remove the air box to get it out, and uncrimping the oil mixer line off was a bit tricky. The throttle slide un screws from the top and slides out. Otherwise pretty standard. I soak all my carburator parts in warm water with pinesol overnight. Then rinse with water and dry with a blow drier. I bought a rebuild kit, but found out the float needle was the wrong size so I reused the old one. Hope this helps!

Do you have a link for the cable by chance? I installed a new one on my ds80 and it’s adjusted all the way out both ends and it feels fine when I pull the clutch lever but it doesn’t engage the clutch. I did have the rod out also so maybe that could be it

Does it matter witch way the clutch plates are facing , as long as it's clutch plate and pressure plate ,clutch plate and pressure plate

Hey mate great video,,im having trouble getting my clutch rod lined up with the cover is there a certain way once it's on to no I'f it's on the right way ,cheers

Thank you. It's a bit tricky. You have to put the rod in the case and hold it in a way that compensates for the rotation when it rotates on to the rack. Took me a few tries. Otherwise you can remove the screw that holds the lever on the rod and then just reinstall it in the right position.

@@nicholasniechayev4037 thanks for your reply I cant seem to get the teeth lined up should there be movement once it's on it moves left and right a little once I get the cover on
@nicholasniechayev40372 жыл бұрын
@@funfishing8195 sounds like you almost have it. It should rotate as you set the case into position, and the rods gear teach line up with the rack. Does it rotate freely in the case? Is the rod pushed all the way down into the case? Is the case clearing the kick start axle? Have you tried rotating the rack in the clutch basket so it lines up better? Keep trying new positions till you get it, and don't give up!

@@funfishing8195 I just picked up an ‘83 the other day as a pit bike and I’m having the same issue with the rack release rod being able to easily be pulled out of the case , even once the teeth are engaged. I Just asked a good buddy today , who’s more of a motorcycle mechanic than I, and he said I need a new seal on the rod. He said that was a common thing with Suzuki’s.

How did you put the clutch cover back I’m struggling with it
@nicholasniechayev4037 Жыл бұрын
It should slide back on. Make sure it's clearing the kick start shaft and that the clutch lever rod is positioned right. You might have to try a few different rotations. Don't give up!

On my bike the clutch is pretty hard to pull in is it the same for you
@nicholasniechayev4037Ай бұрын
Try lubricating the clutch cable. It should not be too hard to pull.

Where can I find that clutch lever that you had to use the needle nose to get off I lost mine where can I find one and what’s it’s actual name ?
@nicholasniechayev40372 жыл бұрын
It's called a clutch lifter arm. eBay is your best bet.

You might be able to get away with one from an rm 80 but check carefully before buying.
