Back in the day, someone made aftermarket Aluminum machined end caps to replace those rubber ones. Worked so much better. Sealed perfect every time. Nice Bike.

Did you have to reshim your valve tappets ..if so did you buy a kit of various shim thicknesses..if yes to kit ..where from..I'm about to shim my valves ..that's why I'm asking ..👍👍👍

Good work. That oil leak could use some sealant. I used to own the GS 850 G... sound motor.

Two valves per cylinder engines fall on their face at about 8,000 RPMs the four valve 1100 GS was a different animal

Nice bike. Did you fit new half moons in the rocker cover ? did you seal 'em with owt ? Is the vaccum hose off carb # 2 connected correctly with no holes ? I made all them mistakes when I got my GS 850 G. Good luck.

Ïf second cylinder runs bad, have you checked the fuelcock ? its vacuum operated and if the membrane is dry in it it will suck fuel thru the vacuum line, and its connected at cylinder two, that makes it run very rich making it go bad and the sparkplug get all black.. (The fuelcock is btw still made by the company that made them for suzuki so you can buy it brand new.. or buy an aftermarked membrane.)

Morning sir, trust you well. Nice content and interesting. One question for you.. When your bike is switched off can you put bike into 2nd gear from 1st gear?

Right on! This might be a silly question... but how were you able to tell it was only running on two cylinders? Maybe it's just hard to hear via video, but it sounded fine to me apart from having a fast idle due to the choke...

Lose the air filter pal,and put individual cornets on each carb.....let it breath!!!

Hey there, I have a 84 gsx1100ef, it only runs on two cyl's are you able to share with me what you did to fix this issue? might be a different problem to what you had but its a start if you are able to help me. Cheers. nice bike by the way sounds nice too :)

Might be blocked pilot jets. The standard carbs pilots are tiny so running at anything below about 4500rpm with any obstruction in them will cause fuel starvation. Check these. They are hidden by rubber stoppers in the carb bodies.
