Күн бұрынSuzuki South Africa invited us on a 4x4 road trip to overland travel through Lesotho in the new Suzuki Jimny. This 4 day African adventure took us through some breathtaking Lesotho landscape, and we simply had to create a travel documentary to celebrate the incredible beauty of the small, mountainous African country. We traversed up Sani Pass - one of the most iconic dirt road passes in the world and a must drive for 4x4 enthusiasts. The Sani Pass, which connects South Africa with Lesotho, has a series of switchbacks which makes the road tricky to drive, add the steep rocky road and the mist which descends without warning and the drive can be extremely intense. At the top of Sani Pass is the Lesotho border, and minutes past that The Highest Pub in Africa. The Sani Mountain Pass is one of the most famous roads in Southern Africa and definitely a driving bucket list item. This made for one of the best road trips in Africa and driving up the Pass in a Jimny was extra special
Whilst travelling off road in Lesotho, we saw some of the most beautiful, untouched scenery in Africa. A highlight was a horse-back ride along sheer cliffs to the the Maletsunyane Falls in the Semonkong region. This is the second highest waterfall in the world and a truly spectacular site.
Lesotho is an incredibly travel destination and was a great experience; and the Suzuki Jimny took us up the steep passes and through the rocky river crossings with ease. Lesotho is a very underrated travel African location and we would highly recommend a visit to the beautiful Lesotho.

It was extremely difficult and luckily my horse was well behaved and they weren't bothered by the drone, otherwise it would have been a different outcome! 🤣

Very well presented and I am happy that you enjoyed my home country, minute 3:18 on the video you were passing my home town, on the way from Sani you passed near highest mountain in Southern Africa, Thabana Ntlenyana, before arriving at Oxbow you must have witnessed the highest elevated diamond mine in in the world (Letšeng Diamonds), Highest drivable road pass in Africa (Tlaeeng Pass) and one of only 2 ski resorts in Southern Africa (Mahlasela / Afriski). 7:09 Highest waterfall in the world = Tugela falls (confirmed November 2021 by Czech Explorers expedition at 983m), Second = Angel falls Venezuela. But nice video of beautiful scenery, thanks.

Wow, Lesotho is so beautiful. Those views from the horseback ride were quite impressive hey. And that waterfall looked amazing. Hopefully more South Africans will be able to go visit our 10th province once Sani's Pass gets tarred. Tough luck for all the off-roaders though when that happens.

I was also hoping to do more gravel and 4x4 driving, but sadly due to heavy rains expected they changed the route last minute so it was just lots of tarmac driving. The Jimnys are extremely capable vehicles off road though!

@@DieterPey yes they are nimble little mini me versions of a G-wagon...always thought them to be over priced but as you say they are very capable for their size hence they are pricey...kinda make sense. Wonder if they will ever make a four door version of it

@@nevillesmith9795 | Correct, they are also becoming pricey because of their high demand and cult like following. I've heard rumours of them possible in the works of a 4 door Jimny and those will sell like hot cakes!

This was a really nice road trip but the music was so off... Like you were in Lesotho playing some Asian background music songs that make it hard to relate to the story being told... The pace of the of the video didn't match the up beat tempo of the music...

It was such a funny sight! Sani Pass is not that difficult in the perfect weather conditions like we had it, when the snow and ice lands, then it is a different monster. The weather can also change very suddenly, which makes it tricky.

Eish can y’all stop changing presenters and can you focus more on the cars and their features and all, the show is slowly losing the car review and main presenter edge we usually get excited for, hai now we always have to think which is the next presenter and less talk about the car.
