SV Ramble On | Installing a Boom Bale and a Boom Vang

4 жыл бұрынWe sailed SVRO without a boom vang. We sailed with a boom vang lashed to the boom. Then we sailed with the vang on one of the existing bales. Finally, we realized it needed it's own bale to be within the "correct" angle. So we caved and cut another hole in the boom for a new bale. And it works great now.

You will like using a Boom Vang. Gives you so much more control of Main Sail shape.

It’s a large diameter rivet tool from McMaster Carr

@@svrambleon thanks! I guess using rivets gives you permanent and more reliable set up, than any screws
